Just that - she's wearing killer heels tonight that I couldn't manage without being pregnant. Could you wear heels like that while pregnant?

I think she looked nice and it was a special occasion for them.

I wore heels walking into the hospital.

Well actually I was wheeled in via ambulance

PotPourri · 11/05/2010 23:24

I thought she looked lovely. I wish I had looked that glam when preggers. I wore high heels when in the London office and pregnant. It made me feel less pregnant somehow (which I found a bit embarassing/distracting for some reason)

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 11/05/2010 23:24

I'm so glad someone else thought that, I've been worrying about her since I saw them. But that's probably because I get vertigo with a heel over an inch at the best of times and am projecting in my slightly anxious state of coping with DH's 40th and political going ons.

Dumbledorina · 11/05/2010 23:59

I thought her heels were great, and I loved her dress! Sarah Brown also looked fab in a v elegant dress; great colour.

Concordia · 12/05/2010 00:29

yanbu i noticed the heels and i am really not a shoe person.
amazing that she could manage them whilst pregnant. such skill, determination and flair should stand her in good stead for having a newborn and a husband who is pm (if the coalition lasts!)

VirginonRidiculous · 12/05/2010 00:36

She looked fab but if she'd spoken to my mother she may have had second thoughts on 'those heels'.

My mum wore platforms when 9 months pregnant with me ! Not only that, she thought it would be a wise idea to walk over cobbled stones with them on. Fell over. Broke her leg. Had to give birth in a plaster and be wheeled around in a chair carrying a new born for 6 weeks. Oh the joy!

chaostrulyreigns · 12/05/2010 01:17

I think she looked absolutely stunning and radiant tonight. She will surely become a style icon.

In the interests of parity Sarah B looked beautiful as well.

Did anyone else think they both looked utterly in love with their DHs?

onadietcokebreak · 12/05/2010 01:20

Agree heels to high. Irresponsible too.

I wore heels like that (and higher) all through my pregnancy. If you're used to wearing heels why not ?

Fruitpastels · 12/05/2010 06:20

I would imagine she only wore them for a small amount of time. She is in the early months of pregnancy and doesn't carry much weight. I could of coped, especially if I was meeting the Queen and my DH made PM!!

Fibilou · 12/05/2010 06:20

"I can't wear heels like that full stop and I do wish pregnant women didn't wear them. So many risks of falling over"

I have never, ever fallen over in my 14 year high-heel-career. Even while drunk and wearing 5 inch platforms

dawntigga · 12/05/2010 06:41

I did, right up to 35 weeks when The Cub decided to make his appearance in the world.

"Agree heels to high. Irresponsible too. "

Why not lock women up in a sanitorium while they are pregnant ? Then they would be at no risk from their irresponsible behaviours like enjoying a glass of champagne, wearing heels or eating brie

Yes Riven... But she'll probably do wonders for the sale of Boden.

thrifty · 12/05/2010 07:14

lol at this thread and people getting all cross.
When i saw her get out of the car, twas the first thing i said to dp. I'd have had muffin top's in those shoes, my feet were so swollen up. I think she looked lovely and i'm sure the shoes were the reason cam was holding her hand so tightly :-)

Bonsoir · 12/05/2010 07:15

SamCam is not a Boden woman at all (thank goodness). And she hardly had to walk at all in those heels. She'll be just fine as PM's wife - she's slim and very polished without being model-material or bling.

AKMD · 12/05/2010 10:07

I think she looked gorgeous and was extremely jealous that she could walk in those heels at all, let alone with a bump.

MrsC2010 · 12/05/2010 10:10

Yes Chaos, I noticed that. It was very genuine and touching. Sarah and Gordon were always a great, mutually supportive couple I thought.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 12/05/2010 10:15

She was indeed walking funny but they were nice shoes and a lovely frock.

I thought the main reason for not wearing high heels is that all your ligaments are soft and wearing heels throws your body out of proper alignment?
I am not 100% sure and tbh don't give a shit before someone swiftly corrects me that's not true.

She could also fall over yes as your centre of gravity os messed up but thought my previous point was the main reason?

BoffinMum · 12/05/2010 10:19

I did think Sarah Brown's bottom looked rather big in her dress, but didn't dare say anything at home for fear of being told I was being bitchy and superficial. So I am saying it in a safe all female environment here instead.

notso · 12/05/2010 10:23

She did look lovely and it's not as if she was running the marathon in them, I like th fact she's not bothered about wearing the same dress all the time too.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 12/05/2010 10:25

LOL BoffinMum -

When The Brown's were pulling into Buckingham Palace the reporter bloke said 'the Jag is about 10 yrs old....' and DH said 'That's right, rip it out of his bloody car -who cares if it's 10 yrs old?' then put on a funny 'reporter' voice and said:

'his car is 10 yrs old, his suit looks a bit shabby and his wife has a fat arse.... give the bloke a break!'

Twas quite funny!

(He was only joking mind!)
