Why? Was there any need? Pull on the old heartstrings..

Poor kids, and it's tea time.

Umm, yes, Ladybiscuit - GB went on the piers Morgan show and talked about just that, if you remember?

I think you'd better hide this thread.

ClaireDeLoon · 11/05/2010 20:17

oh is anyone still watching the coverage (sorry if this is the wrong thread) but GB is at the labour hq and giving a speech and Sarah Brown looks so sad

Chulita · 11/05/2010 20:17

ladybiscuit I reported your post cos I think it's totally out of order. Regardless of what you think of DC that sort of attitude is inappropriate. GB did talk about the loss of his daughter in that interview with Piers Morgan (not that I'm saying either did it for political gain).
But OP YABU, he was quitting a massive job, the media want a family-leaving-together photo and GB never used his children as a political lever, ifaik.

wineismysaviour · 11/05/2010 20:17

Ladybiscuit, I did not agree with DC using his family, I never said GB had used his before, I was just was annoyed he had used them now.

I will say it again, I do not agree with any politician using their kids in PR, all of them...

I am also sorry you've had a bad day.

OP posts:
GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 20:18

ladyBiscuit - sorry you have had such a shitty day, and hope yyour sister gets better (as much as she can).

To be honest I am feeling hugely pissed off that we have got to endure that ham faced arse as PM. You should see us all on the leftie thread - a mix of genuine upset and anger.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 11/05/2010 20:19

LadyBiscuit that is one of the most pathetic accusations I have heard

LadyBiscuit · 11/05/2010 20:20

Really? Funnily enough I don't watch the Piers Morgan show. I read the broadsheets. I don't recall seeing any of his Xmas card photos though, do you? Or photos of his sons in the papers? Do you?

Okay, I am wrong about that. Mea culpa. DC is still a vile slimey toad who would sell his own granny if he thought he could get away with it. At least GB has principles

We've got a PM who tries to make out that his wife who is the daughter of a baronet is quite ordinary because she went to dayschool. Jesus wept. GB may have been inept and clumsy but at least he was honest.

Hulababy · 11/05/2010 20:20

ladyBiscuit - GB did speak of his children including the daughter who died. He spoke of her at the time and afterwards. This IMO is not wrong. He is allowed to speak of his family and especially of ddifficult times. Likewise, so is DC.

Do you seriously think that DC or GB would use their lost children andthir statis as grieving parents in order t get votes?

LadyBiscuit · 11/05/2010 20:21

GOML - I shall come over to the leftie thread, I am better off there.

Please do report my post, I'm dying to have one reported actually. I've never been particularly controversial

LadyBiscuit · 11/05/2010 20:23

Of course he is allowed to talk about it! As are they both! But GB is massively private and DC isn't

Anyway, I truly am going now. Once again, if I have upset anyone I apologise. I don't trust DC at all though. Sorry

MaisietheMorningsideCat · 11/05/2010 20:23

It was reported very widely that he was on Piers Morgan - but perhaps you chose not to see that. I can't recall seeing anything about DC's children, I don't know their names, or how many he has, just as I don't know anything about Nick Cleggs.

GB has about as many principles as the rest of them. Are you forgetting the abolishment of the 10p tax rate? His wanting to do away with childcare vouchers? Don't put him on a pedestal - he really doesn't deserve it.

Oh yeah right and he needs the worlds media to take that 'special' photo as he hasn't got a camera..

Do you not think he'll be off doing the after dinner circuit or off to the EU. His profile is as important now as it was yesterday.

He's a guy who's in need of a job.

OP posts:
Hulababy · 11/05/2010 20:27

Sorry you are upset by all this LB, but I Still believe you are being totally and utterly unreasonable here.

You say the OP upset you as they complain that GB brought his children out tonight, which you feel is ok. Yet, you are willing to use an even worse kind of comment against DC.

I believe both men have been dignified over the loss of their children, and I feel for them both equally in the loss of their young children. Politicis shouldn't even come into when we are talking of a daddy having to bury their babies surely?

I can honestly say tha I hve seen no more of DC's family than I have of GB's. You are being very one sided and biased - I know you are upset and don't like today's result - but you are beig very very unreasonable and very very unfair, and pretty callous too.

YABVU
Its nice that he had his family to support him. I just knew some miserable git on mn would say he was trying to take advantage.

RunawayWife · 11/05/2010 20:33

Well Camerons lot at outside number 10.

And outside is where they should have been left

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 20:34

Wine, you are just arguing your stupid point for the sake of it.

RunawayWife · 11/05/2010 20:36

I think it is disgusting to say either man/family played on the death of their child.

Prime minster or bin man the loss of a child is (I would think) the worst thing in the world.

Igglybuff · 11/05/2010 20:37

runaway I wish someone would block the front door or something to stop them getting in.

You may disagree Hulababy but that's the way I've always felt. I've just never been sufficiently irritated before this thread to discuss it on CamsNet.

Maisie - I'm not saying he is not a politician - they are all unprincipled. I'm saying he is honest. There is a difference. And no I don't recall reading any coverage about him being on Piers Morgan. But as I don't watch telly, I'm hardly likely to am I?

violethill · 11/05/2010 20:40

YABVU - GB has not capitalised on his children in any way whatsoever.

And although I can't find anything to like about DC politically, I don't think he has tried to use his personal tragedy to his advantage either.

I am quite disgusted at some of the accusations on here, and they say more about the poster than anyone else.

MmeLindt · 11/05/2010 20:41

YABVVVVVVVU

Why should his family not take part in such an important day of his life.

LOL though at tea time. You sound very repressed, to be worrying about teatime.

RunawayWife · 11/05/2010 20:43

Oh well David Cameron and Sam Cam are in,

Whats that I hear, ar the sound of Great Britten being flushed down the toilet....
