Why? Was there any need? Pull on the old heartstrings..

Poor kids, and it's tea time.

TB is such a fitting set of initials for man who spreads himself round the world making as much money as possible from the total misery he left behind

GB is not cut from the same cloth at all. I fear the Milliband is TB with a mask on however, you can just imagine him planning his book deals and 'speaking tours' of the future!

KorkiiEffenkrakers · 11/05/2010 20:06

I am so sad that Gordon Brown has resigned. Like others have said, he got the blame for a lot of stuff that wasn't his fault. He was just unfortunate enough to inherit it all at the wrong man.

I think, unlike many politicians, he is a sincere man. Probably too much so. In fact, I would say he is a man out of his time. He would have been well suited to be prime minister in the Victorian times. He is not a made up, weaselly, media luvvy like many of today's politicians, including David Cameron.

DH and I voted Lib Dem in the elections as I felt very pissed off about the expenses racket etc but now I really regret it. If the Lib dems can get into bed with Cameron, then they do not represent my beliefs.

MaisietheMorningsideCat · 11/05/2010 20:06

No, Ladybiscuit, not true at all. I can appreciate that you may be bitter, but to bring the death of a child into your arguement is just going a step too far.

wineismysaviour · 11/05/2010 20:06

whooooow...slow down on hurling abuse.

I am only saying I do not understand why he did it. He did not use them as a PR tool during his time, why then, have them there when he resigns.

I doubt very much they would have been kicked out once Gordon had left the building as some have suggested on here.

I think that speech and everything that came with it was totally appropriate

I cried too

In fact, I have been choked all day and have developed an addiction to the 24 hour news stations

I need help !

unfitmother · 11/05/2010 20:07

Pathetic OP, should he have left them behind?

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 20:07

LadyB - I am also angry at the daft OP. But I do disagree that anyone would capitalise on a child's death in this way.

Anyway - back to the OP. Piss off you miserable old trout

KorkiiEffenkrakers · 11/05/2010 20:08

I agree with Strictlytory's comments on Milliband (either one). Don't like the look of them at all. But I suppose they will be looking for someone with more 'media appeal' to replace GB.

Igglybuff · 11/05/2010 20:09

Just watching DC enter the palace. Nooooooooooooooooo

BAFE · 11/05/2010 20:09

OP - when GB and his wife were leaving their home what do you think he should have done with his children?

Put it this way, if you were leaving your home, wouldn't you take your dc's out with you?

LetThereBeRock · 11/05/2010 20:10

I just watched the speech,I missed it earlier. Their boys are adorable.

The last time I saw a photo of them was when his youngest was born, and the last that I heard about them was a few months after that when Fraser was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis.
He's had many opportunities to use them to evoke sympathy but didn't, so it certainly isn't fair to accuse him of doing that now.

DC and SC agreed to one photo of them on the way back from leaving their recently deceased child as they knew there would be interest. hardly fair to say he used the most of the media coverage.

Say something bloody awful and then hide the thread.

MaisietheMorningsideCat · 11/05/2010 20:10

It could be worse - it could be TB and Cherie going into BP

Tiredmumno1 · 11/05/2010 20:12

Oh blimey

oh and op get over it

yawn

StrictlyTory · 11/05/2010 20:12

Oh God Maisie what a thought! I need my hemlock if that ever happened!

wineismysaviour · 11/05/2010 20:13

FabIs , I agree he didn't use them at all during his time, therefore I wonder why do it now.

Tbh, I don't like kids being used in any PR stunt, be in political / celebrity / etc etc..

OP posts:
oldandgreynow · 11/05/2010 20:13

I thought it was traditional for incoming/outgoing PMs to pose with their family.

LadyBiscuit · 11/05/2010 20:13

I don't think there are any depths to which DC would sink in his quest for power actually GOML. I know his son's name, I have seen their Xmas cards, I have read countless interviews with talking about Ivan and his death. Have you ever read an interview with GB where he's mentioned the fact that his son has CF or that his daughter died? I've never even seen a picture of his sons and I don't know what they're called. The OP accusing him of using them now when he never, ever has is really winding me up.

I have also just had a massive row with my DS and visited my sister in hospital today - who ironically has CF - so I am probably not in the best place right now.

Fuck, I said I was going to hide this thread.

I won't recant but I do apologise if I've offended anyone.

rosieposey · 11/05/2010 20:15

YABU VVVU. I have never seen his sons 'trotted' out for anything, I havent ever bought into the media's image and villification of him either - what a shame you have OP.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 11/05/2010 20:16

I had never seen his children before.

I didn't even know how old they are.

YABU

What use can he have now for public pity?
