Why? Was there any need? Pull on the old heartstrings..

Poor kids, and it's tea time.

No, the kids went elsewhere in a seperate car. The BBC saw the Browns disappear behing a tree to say goodbye to kids before Gordon and Sarah got into the Jag to head to Buckingham Palace.

preggersplayspop · 11/05/2010 19:55

YABVVVVVVU

Pathetic OP

The man has kept them out of the public eye all the time he has been PM.

MyFriendGouda · 11/05/2010 19:55

YANBU, kids were part of the fixtures and fittings therefore should have been left behind..... Obviously

FabIsGoingToGetFit · 11/05/2010 19:55

When LadyBiscuit?

bradsmissus · 11/05/2010 19:56

I thought it was lovely. As others have said, he has never used them for publicity before - I didn't even realise he had 2 boys until I just saw them.

I cried too.

Hulababy · 11/05/2010 19:56

Bit unfair there LadyBiscuit.

Tiredmumno1 · 11/05/2010 19:56

I reckon the OP is the brown's disgruntled sacked babysitter

wineismysaviour · 11/05/2010 19:57

I was being sarcastic about tea time....fgs

I just don't see the point in using children in a political forum. Its not necessary. Did we see them during his power...no...is it appropriate to see them now...no.

If I had to resign from my job, would I trot out my kids during my resignation speech..no.

Thats all.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 19:58

LadyB I think that was uncalled for.

I think DC is a travesty of a politician but I don't think he was inhuman. I do not believe he capitalised on the death of his child at all.

RunawayWife · 11/05/2010 19:59

They are his children it is his choice and sod all to do with you or me or anyone else.

Cameron's children were in the paper today and I wonder if he will take his kids to meet the queen later.
Get over yourself

Rollmops · 11/05/2010 19:59

You are being pathetic and totally unreasonable.

compo · 11/05/2010 19:59

How wonderful for them to meet the Queen!
I'm so sad, he was genuinely devoted to his country and I loved that he mentioned the armed forces

ilovesprouts · 11/05/2010 19:59

yes unfair lb ,thats not called for

MaisietheMorningsideCat · 11/05/2010 19:59

Uncalled for and untrue, Ladybiscuit. Not nice at all.

I thought it was a very moving speech, and a lovely thing for them all to be together at a time like this.

YABVU - and I'm speaking as someone who's been less than impressed with GB in the last few days.

expatinscotland · 11/05/2010 19:59

Um, they were leaving No. 10, what was he supposed to do, put a veil on them like Michael Jackson's kids?

MyFriendGouda · 11/05/2010 20:00

Oooohhhh, LadyBiscuit, thats going a bit too damn far.

Cannotfindaname · 11/05/2010 20:00

"I just don't see the point in using children in a political forum"

He wasn't, he's resigned so they are out of their home.

I too didn't realise he had 2 young boys, they have always been kept out of the spotlight which is a good thing.

I just feel sorry for him, and us now. We are stuck with DC. We are doomed.

Igglybuff · 11/05/2010 20:00

wine he ended the speech by talking about being a husband and father. Hence the kids. It was lovely. So ner.

ClaireDeLoon · 11/05/2010 20:01

I very much doubt your job is anything like GB's wineismysaviour. Their fathers job will have massively impacted their family life. They are leaving their home fgs.

30andMerkin · 11/05/2010 20:01

When they had TV helicopters following the Browns in Scotland over the past couple of days, the boys' faces were usually obscured. So he probably either had a reporting restriction in place, or an agreement with the press not to feature them up unnecessarily or until this point. I think that's pretty dignified and appropriate - after all it's their home too they are leaving.

VinegarTits · 11/05/2010 20:01

how is he using them in a political forum? he has resigned, he has nothing to gain by 'trotting the kids out', its not like he going to get re-elected because of his cute kids you nutter

you sound like a bitter twisted old grunt

MollieO · 11/05/2010 20:01

I think that unlike TB since leaving office GB will actually do a lot of good - charity work etc and make a difference. Unlike TB who is fixated on how much money he can earn for the least amount of work.

LadyBiscuit · 11/05/2010 20:03

I think it's true. I can't ever remember an interview with Gordon Brown talking about his son with CF or his daughter who died the day after she was born. But Cameron certainly made the most of the media coverage.

I think Brown has been enormously dignified and the OP has really, really pissed me off. I don't apologise for being venomous at DC when he is supported by someone who is gleefully kicking a man when he's down.

LetThereBeRock · 11/05/2010 20:03

I really don't think it's fair to say Cameron used his child's death in that way.

I don't like the man at all,but he isn't that low.

MaisietheMorningsideCat · 11/05/2010 20:04

Agree re TB Mollie. Cherie would have flogged No.10 and it's contents on ebay before TB resigned

Allegedly.
