It's odd isn't it?

I know an Emil and Emilia brother/sister pair.

I fought really hard against naming DD with the same initial as DS, but in the end she simply got our favourite girls name, which is what DS would have gt had he been a girl.

A friend pointed out to me after DD was officially named that our 2nd choice girls name would have been a mouthful/tongue twister when combined with DSs

Certainly not looking to continue the 'theme' with this one

I would have loved to have picked DS's name, but as he's adopted, he arrived with one already Fortunately for us, it's a lovely name, and is the same name as my Grandfather - I wouldn't have it any other way. And if/when we adopt again, having another child with a name starting with the same initial is way, way down my list of worries!

What I find weird is parents to be who are agonising over their forthcoming arrival's name to ensure that it 'goes with' the name/s of their older child/ren. The only time that my name and my siblings used to come together was on Christmas cards, so I really can't get too excited whether DS1 and DS2 have names that 'go together' or not. Having said that, I did avoid choosing a name which was a English version of DS1's (Irish) name as it seemed a bit daft to have two kids, both with essentially the same name!

I would have called DD Jemima if she had been ours from birth, which would have meant that all three DC's names started with J. Not by design, they just happened to be names I liked.
