i got a bfp on tuesday. a clear one. a bright blue line straight down. I am now (going by ov dates) coming up for 5 weeks. this is the time I normally mc, and I just want to stay in bed and sleep for the next 2 weeks. I havent called the cons yet, no point because there is nothing he is prepared to try. I havent been to my gp because he will refer me to the cons and i dont want yet another mc going on my notes.

i certainly feel more pg than i have for years, napping 2pm-4pm, going to bed at 8, eating like a horse etc... but on the downside i have a touch of loose bowels and i know that i need an early scan because of the ep.

but i cant seem to face up to this. dh is cacking himself and i dont want to scare him anymore. he asks if ive called the cons and ive been v evasive and said that he is away, but i dont want to involve anyone else in this in rl yet.

So glad you have made an appointment . Will pop a small contribution over via paypal later today x

Can I ask some of the more experienced mnetters whether they think we need to start a new thread or whether we should just leave it at this one ?

Hi lissie, diddn't mean to be nosy re GBS just wondered if it stood for Guillian Barre [spelling?] as I had that and they think it triggered immune disorders linked to m/c .And like you my first pregnancy was great.

If so there is a free trial being run at Liverpool testing for natural killer cells -I could not go as have ME and you have to be otherwise healthy but could be worth a try-if GBS stands for something else-sorry.

queenoftheslatterns · 13/04/2010 13:06

sorry, didnt mean to ignore your question GBS is group b strep. during labour it was transferred from the vagina into my uterus, where it went undetected for over a week
i have been seen by LWH and they didnt seem to have many answers for us. it was v frustrating. we placed so much hope and faith in them

PollyPoo · 13/04/2010 14:08

I'm sat here with tears streaming down my face, partly because of everything you've been through Lissie/Queen, and partly because of the generosity of MNers. Lissie you were really lovely to me when I was weeping and wailing the Hut last year and I am so so sorry this has happened to you again.

Just going to send you a small donation, its not much but I hope it will help. I'm really glad you got an appointment so soon.

waitingforbedtime · 13/04/2010 14:18

worzel yes I think another trhead in chat would be a great idea - IF ok with lissie (hope you dont mind me using your name) I am crap at writing things though and not a well known poster so dont think Im best one to do it........

queenoftheslatterns · 13/04/2010 15:24

I still cant believe how generous everyone has been. of course I dont mind another thread. x

Lissie

Its Heebeejeebee (hoped a new name would bring me luck, but not so far)

I'm so so sorry to hear about this, but definitely go and see Mr Shehata

I see Mr Shehata privately (despite living in Epsom!) and it isn't too bad financially - once you've had the initial consultation, he doesn't need to see you that regularly, and the steriods are relatively cheap (I think the prescription was £20).

He is also an expert in conceiving (has been helping me out here too) so I'm sure he will ask you, but do mention about the clomid etc to him. He is the only person in my myriad of appointments who has actually listened to the foibles of your cycle with interest..

Cheryl is his private PA and she's lovely. Liz is his NHS PA (also lovely!), not sure who the person is that that article quoted!

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask

queenoftheslatterns · 13/04/2010 15:53

hi heebee, how many appointments have you had with him? and at which hospital? not "seen" you in yonks!

OP posts:
LaBellaSantaCatarinadiSienna · 13/04/2010 16:04

Hi - I've lurked from time to time, but just waiting for IVF and got thoroughly depressed by the whole thing and stuck my head in the sand!

When I was seeing him just for the m/cs at Harley St I saw him I would say, every 3 months? Because he knew my NHS consultant in Epsom they told me they could increase the dose of the fertility drugs if I saw him privately. DH and I thought it was worth a go (cheaper than IVF) so I saw him monthly for that for the follicle tracking scan. For that appointment, depending on which day it fell, I saw him either at Harley St (Monday afternoons or every other Wednesday) or at his private clinic in Epsom, or at Ashtead hospital.

In all, I've been seeing him for 9 months and can honestly say he kept me sane through some very dark times..

GibbonInARibbon · 13/04/2010 16:07

Will contribute lissie xxx

queenoftheslatterns · 13/04/2010 16:25
