Perhaps a coloured icon that changes colour from green to red by registering the numbers of 'feck offs' and 'FFS!!' that occur.

I tend to dive in with a joke and then feel like I've burst into a room with a fart joke only to find that there is nasty domestic spat going on.

I think the fart joke can often be a welcome and much needed diversion Orm.

JaneS · 30/03/2010 15:00

Agreed. Please continue with the fart jokes and all else.

Nessarose · 30/03/2010 15:01

whats the fart joke orm?

StepSideways · 30/03/2010 15:02

yes yes.. fart joke pls

OrmRenewed · 30/03/2010 15:02

Ermmm I don't actually know one nessa I was using it as a metaphor for slightly tasteless humour.

But I'll ask DS#1. He's bound to know loads!

Mouseface · 30/03/2010 15:02

tell the fart joke!

pagwatch · 30/03/2010 15:03

There is nothing more charming than an unexpected jokey post in the middle of a barney.
Don't stop.

StepSideways · 30/03/2010 15:04

but i love the idea of a 'hostility meter' which measures 'FFS' and things like that... i could code that up for MN i think..

fruitloafrocks · 30/03/2010 15:06

Far too many uptighties on here who don't appreciate a good fart joke.

Mouseface · 30/03/2010 15:07

Given a few of the posts we've had here very recently turning into huge arguments between MNs, I'm all for an early warning system Orm, great idea!!

ooojimaflip · 30/03/2010 15:09

There is nowhere that isn't the place for humour.

Nessarose · 30/03/2010 15:10

Orm
I have only used ffs once and that was in regard to my poor spelling, but a hostility meter good idea

Nessarose · 30/03/2010 15:11

ooh used it twice now

GrimmaTheNome · 30/03/2010 15:13

That would just be asking Hully (to pick a name at random) to dive right in there.

Hullygully · 30/03/2010 15:14

This sort of thing makes me so angry

OrmRenewed · 30/03/2010 15:15

Hey hully! Right on cue

What threads are we talking about, Orm?

Nessarose · 30/03/2010 15:18

Hully I wonder if we are thinking of the same one?

posieparker · 30/03/2010 15:19

Why did the boy take toilet roll to the party?

Because he was a party pooper.

Is this a serious thread?

Nessarose · 30/03/2010 15:21

PP

OrmRenewed · 30/03/2010 15:21

Yes posie. Very serious! How dare you lower the tone with a bottom joke?

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 30/03/2010 15:29

To fart, to fart, it is no crime
It gives the stomach ease.
It warms the bed in wintertime
And suffocates the fleas.

Ai thenk you!

Hullygully · 30/03/2010 15:30

And for burping:

Pardon me for being rude
It was not me, it was my food
It came up here to say hello
But now it's gone back down below

OrmRenewed · 30/03/2010 15:33

What's the difference between a seagull and a baby without a nappy?

One flits above the shore and the other ...well you can guess the rest.

My dad told my DC that one
