Lady Gaga's new vid...

www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ95z6ywcBY&feature=PlayList&p=C4B9C7326E087E89&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL& index=1

I personally love Lady Gaga, but felt very uncomfortable when this came on the tv today, my little sister was visiting and I had to switch it over. I watched the video online and loved it, but I can't believe they are showing it during the day. The only thing missing from the edited version is the swearing and the close up of her lady bits!

World gone mad

I love it though.

nooka;

Sledghammer is one of my fave songs ever..

...Do you know what it's about...?

bebejones · 18/03/2010 10:25

Just seen it for the first time & tbh don't think it's any worse than a lot of other videos from other artists.

Personally I liked it, but each to their own. If you don't like it you don't have to watch it or let your kids watch it. There's this little button on the remote that turns the TV off....amazing!!!

TotalChaos · 18/03/2010 11:11

I'm ambivalent - I think the parody of a genre that's almost become a parody in itself is an interesting idea - and I like some of the styling - but I am very Meh at the women prancing around in underwear/supposed empowerment idea, and the mass murder theme. I was far more bothered by the Shakira she-wolf video.

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 14:11

Daftpunk What is it about??

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 14:24

If I said to you..

...Show me round your fruitcage, cos I will be your honey bee..

what do do think I'd be talking about..?

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 14:25

It's all about sex..

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 14:26

I kind of think that most songs are. I was hoping for specifics

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 14:30

Lol...I thought it was obvious...maybe I read nookas post wrong...I thought she was saying how she likes old stuff that seemed clean and she could share with her 9yr old...

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 14:33

Addicted to Love used to amuse me. Blatantly sexual but using love as a euphemism for shedloads of Cocaine.

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 14:42

I just read your post on another thread...you said you wouldn't have anything pierced except your ears...

...I have my eyebrow pierced and I have hair extensions down to my waist..(kinda in dreadlocks)..

...Is this the end of our friendship..?

Yep, agree alot of songs are about drugs. people think their about "love"..lol

Not that I'm into drugs that much.

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 14:44

Sorry about typos..

Gotta run....late for school (again)

Alouiseg · 18/03/2010 14:44

You pierce what you like love!

It's not for me but then i bet i am far more ancient than you are.

Lets not talk about drugs on here ;-)

claig · 18/03/2010 14:47

rock'n'roll is a euphemism for sex, 50s songs like "Shake Rattle and Roll" are a euphemism for sex. But Nooka is right, she can share songs like Sledgehammer with her 9 year old daughter because they are euphemisms, the sex is not explicit.

daftpunk · 18/03/2010 18:24

Ikwym claig....but somehow it wouldn't feel right my 9 yr old singing along to sledgehammer....I know what the song means...

My dd1 loved Red hot chili peppers "under the bridge" .....I knew it was about someone who died of a drugs overdose...I hated her singing it...

nooka · 19/03/2010 02:35

Um actually I wasn't talking about sharing Sledgehammer with my dd - she doesn't really like Peter Gabriel. I was just saying that music videos used to be a lot more creative, and it's a pity that they are now so rubbish and obsessed with Tits and Ass.

But yes tracks with clever lyrics are much better, and if euphemisms mean that you can enjoy singing along as a child, adult or old fogies then that's great too.
