There was an incident at DD's school on Monday, a game went wrong and a boy ended up wrapping a skipping rope around a girl's throat, outcome was the girl got quite badly hurt and it was fairly serious.

Now the story i have heard from DD and the story that has come from the school are very different.

So, today i am sitting in work and i get a phone call from the school, warning me that through some kind of crossed wires the mum of the girl has been informed that my DD was in some way involved in the whole incident, and she is now "on the war path" and will, apparently, be waiting for me at 3 o clock. I mean in what kind of bizarre world is that a normal conversation to have with your child's school!

The mum is not someone you would ever want to be on the wrong side of and apparently there is nothing the school can do!

Really, I am 32...a reasonable person and I don't fight!!

Sigh... might have to ditch my shiney ballet pumps for some steel toe capped boots on the way home!

Are schools allowed to give out names in these situations?

Nursery won't tell parents who has bit their child. Thought the same would apply in school incidents.

Tortoise · 10/03/2010 16:38

Glad it's all sorted.

posieparkerfuckityfuck · 10/03/2010 16:38

Thanks for updating, glad all is well.....

I do hate it when people forget to update!!

thesunshinesbrightly · 10/03/2010 16:40

EW- least is all sorted now and the 'crazy woman' will leave you alone.

School's have some issue's with lunch time assistant's trouble is they stand round gossiping with other's and forget they are their to do a job. Most not all.

So pleased, i can now feed my hungry deprived children

thehillsarealive · 10/03/2010 16:43

glad things are sorted out for you.

but shame on the school for giving out childrens names to the crazy loony mum! that is just sooooooooo bad.

pagwatch · 10/03/2010 16:46

Oh Come On!!!!

Stop all the 'so glad it worked out Op'.

You know you were all lurking with a frisson of excitement that ElizabethWakefield came back with reports like this

You can pretend but I know you are slinking off all disppointed.

Charlieandlola · 10/03/2010 16:50

Letter of complaint to the chair of govenors. Unacceptable that names were given out to the aggreived mother and unbelievable that the headcrang you and warned that you may be attacked.

Sounds an absolutely hideous school. Do you gave any other options for your lkids. ?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 10/03/2010 16:51

pagwatch · 10/03/2010 16:58

But maybe Eastenders is real...

thesunshinesbrightly · 10/03/2010 17:03

Yes when i look at my comment i missed out the sorry.

What you on about? Eastenders aint real...wtf

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 10/03/2010 17:06

I have to agree with those who are shocked that the school gave out any names to the parent of the injured girl - especially as she's known to have a very short temper. It is good that the school have sorted this out, but I don't think it has been handled properly, either by the staff who dealt with it at the time, the staff who gave out the list of names of 'those involved', or even the Headteacher.

She could have told EW that she would be talking to the children who'd been involved or seen the incident, and that she'd be talking to the mother of the injured girl - at least then EW would have known that something was being done, rather than being left with the impression that, having warned her, the school thought they'd done their bit.

EW - I'm near Glasgow too - out past Paisley - is that anywhere near you?

BariatricObama · 10/03/2010 17:07

so they have to do the dance of the 7 veils when a child is infested with nits but they can merrily had out names of children to crazy ladies with anger issues.

pat2chat · 10/03/2010 17:39

This is not on...the head at least should be around to clarify the situation, and give you some support, totally agree with HeQet

Aaaachoooo · 10/03/2010 17:49

ElizabethWakefield, would love to hear the story about crazy woman having a go at you for daring to have a party on the same day as her daughter's birthday. Do tell.......
Seriously though, what is this woman like with her children? Makes you wonder.......

Asana · 10/03/2010 17:55

Still giggling and snorting at pagwatch

KimiGaveUpStarbucks4Lent · 10/03/2010 17:57

Oh my gosh OP, this is ridiculous!!
I know how you feel though because a child who was bullying DS1 told his mummy I swore at him (I did not) and mummy rang daddy (as she always sent her husband round as she was a coward as well as a chav) any how daddy and his half brother pitch up at the school one home time and let rip in the KS1 play ground with the sort of language that would make a docker blush and all sorts of threats of getting me done over!!!
I laughed my head off and told him to "go away you silly little man" (5 foot nowt and typical angry little man).

I also phoned the police and had them all arrested, the head of the school was cowering inside, (man was as much use as a pork pie at a bahmitzva [sp].)

I think you need to firstly speak to the school, the head should be sorting this out, also I would call the local police station and ask advice,
If all else fails remember.......
if an opponent cant see they cant fight
if an opponent cant stand they cant fight
if an opponent cant breath they cant fight
it worked in karate kid and if all else fails take a skipping rope

Jamieandhismagictorch · 10/03/2010 18:51

Kimi Am in awe. You are a Hard Ass

pagwatch · 10/03/2010 18:57

at if all else fails take a skipping rope

tethersend · 10/03/2010 18:58

Kimi, were you the mother in the OP?

KimiGaveUpStarbucks4Lent · 10/03/2010 19:01

LOL I grew up in Brent comes in handy sometimes

No really I was taller then him and I am a tae kwon do blue belt (2 from black) he would have lost

Funny thing was the muppet brother was giving it all "get your old man down ere" and I just said very calmly, oh do you want him to laugh at you too? He likes a laugh you know!!!!

DH1 is the worlds biggest pacifist, he would never raise a hand to anyone but he is a big chap and so people tend to not argue with him (good thing really as he is as hard as cotton wool )

I will never in a million years work out these women that send their man out to behave like a fishwife for them, and what sort of man goes threatening women?? (a short one LOL)
