Absolutely.

glinda · 25/02/2010 17:23

And that's how Su sees it!

PeedOffWithNits · 25/02/2010 17:24

ok, so MNing all day is Ok though is it?

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2010 17:24

I agree
Never turn on TV until 5pm for DCs
If I turned it on mid day, i might never escape from the sofa
Weekend is different however, when it is acceptable to watch some sports or a film mid afternoon
Was crap as student though, but was lazy then

SuSylvester · 25/02/2010 17:24

its for people who cant read a nice poetry anthology or arrange some flowers

OP posts:
TheFoosa · 25/02/2010 17:24

obv a non-working working class thing

MmeLindt · 25/02/2010 17:24

Here in Geneva we do not watch TV all day.

fishie · 25/02/2010 17:25

yes it is odd that. i can't even watch it when i'm ill. daytime tv = syringes on the carpet, upturned ashtrays and permanently closed curtains.

OrmRenewed · 25/02/2010 17:25

Oh dear

I don't think it's bad form. But it feels wrong. Daytime is for R4 or for TV if your are ill or a child. DH watches TV in the days for anything sport-related. He argues with the children over it at times. I retire to the kitchen for GQT and Weekend Woman's Hour.

I think that daytime TV is one of those things like lucozade, that is meant for the sick but has been usurped by those who aren't

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2010 17:25

I have a flower press

PeedOffWithNits · 25/02/2010 17:29

lets not forget that for very many elderly lonely people the TV is their company - some dont speak to another soul for days

it's more than bad form. It's a waste of life

NoahAndTheWhale · 25/02/2010 17:31

I agree. Watched some olympics highlights while DD was at school this morning and felt distinctly bad. Radio fine, Internet fine but somehow not television.

SuSylvester · 25/02/2010 17:32
