YanknCock · 25/02/2010 17:32

I don't watch it during the day, and I've said this repeatedly, but my FIL will not stop asking me if I've 'seen that Judge Judy, she's American you know, and there was this case on where someone's sister's hairdresser got sued for....'

FFS.

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2010 17:32

TV sucks the life out of you

muggglewump · 25/02/2010 17:32

I miss watching The Wright stuff and Loose Women.
I sometimes make a point of cleaning the rooms with those channels on for rather longer than needed, just so I can watch for a bit.

OfficiallyMe · 25/02/2010 17:33

I never watch TV

that makes SuSylvester MORE working class than me

OrmRenewed · 25/02/2010 17:34

I keep telling my DC that when I were a lass there was no TV during the day. I think they reckons it's just a fairy story, like not having home computers and DVD players.

sungirltan · 25/02/2010 17:34

i have a flatscreen tv and leather sofas from dfs (cringe) but they were here when i arrived!!

i watch tws (another thing inherited from dh) for a bit in the morning.

i also wear trackies alot indoors because jeans hurt my c section scar.

working class my farking arse

TheFoosa · 25/02/2010 17:34

I watched Mad Men online in the daytime, does that count

OrmRenewed · 25/02/2010 17:35

I am beginning to think I am working class. Which is quite exciting. MN has taught me something anyway.

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2010 17:36

DD thinks when I was a girl there were no cars nor tarmac'd roads

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2010 17:36

I'm not convinced that listening to Radio 4 is an improvement. I've tried to like it but it's so incredibly dull.

JaneS · 25/02/2010 17:36

Does it count if I put iplayer on while I'm editing my footnotes? Or is that too common for you too?

TheFoosa · 25/02/2010 17:37

I am working class but don't own any trackie's

OrmRenewed · 25/02/2010 17:38

Ooh no lethere!

madhairday · 25/02/2010 17:38

Hate daytime TV but often resort to it when sick.

But even then it feels like my brain has shrunk and my eyeballs need washing.

Like Doctors though

pointysayhiphip · 25/02/2010 17:39

crappy daytime tv is for the ill and the dull

suitejudyblue · 25/02/2010 17:39

No time for tv during the day, am too busy tripping out to Tesco in my pjs

Megletwantsittobesummer · 25/02/2010 17:41

I have sky news on all day. Although I'm not sitting there watching it, just peeking as I go past, have a cuppa.

Without it I could miss something important you know .

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 25/02/2010 17:43

wow!

I watch TV in the day, but it's usually the gilmore girls freeview+'d stuff that i'd never get to watch otherwise. Can't watch daytime TV - it's too depressing.

Good thing the ER re-runs have stopped though!

SixtyFootDoll · 25/02/2010 17:43

HAte daytime TV I feel it eating away my brain cells

LetThereBeRock · 25/02/2010 17:44

Oh yes. It's tedious crap.

I have this terrible fear that I'll pass away in a nursing home to the sound of The Shipping Forecast, the afternoon plays or The Archers.

It's not the thought of dying that bothers me, it's having to listen to that as I fade away.

LaurieFairyCake · 25/02/2010 17:45

I was ill yesterday and lethargic so I turned on the TV and Jeremy Kyle was on.

After ten minutes I felt grubby so I turned it off. Wasn't too sick to reach for the 'off' button.

I never watch daytime tv - too dispiriting.

I don't really sit and read poetry anthologies either though

I work, mumsnet, and pretend to clean...that'll keep me going all day

upahill · 25/02/2010 17:46

@ suitejudy.....
I'm still trying to work out what class I am following a thread last week so I don't know if I should watch day time tv or not tbh.

However it feels wrong somehow to put the tv on before 6.00pm.
Saturday and Sunday tv is banned well not banned but discouraged until about 7.00pm unless there is a Grnd Prix on.

Never ever any tv before school. It wouldn't occur to anyone to do that.

Looking back at this post I seem quite strict but it's how things have evolved at chez Upahill!

BooHooMonkey · 25/02/2010 17:46

I am working class.
I do not wear tracksuit bottoms
I do not own a leather sofa
I don not watch much tv in the day.

You are thinking of the non-working class.

DarrellRivers · 25/02/2010 17:47

Shipping forecast oddly comforting and Gardener's QT as well
Would like to die to SFC's dulcet tones actually

PureAsTheColdDrivenSnow · 25/02/2010 17:50

I'm middle class and I do wear tracksuit bottoms.
