DD has just started at the local nursey attached to a school and here are a few of the names.

Boden... i kid you not
Denim...maybe too much gas and air???
isis...strange but pretty

When i heard the teacher call Boden i nearly pissed myself and so glad i didnt say anything out loud because his mum was standing infront of me.

Do you think they call him/her mini boden as a "cute" nickname.

nannynobnobs · 23/02/2010 16:48

My friend's middle name is Denhem, sounds just like Denim. But Boden?!
I like Isis.

EccentricaGallumbits · 23/02/2010 16:48

Their surname is Castle.

I know an Isis, twin sister Aster, pretty names. No-one bats an eyelid at strange names in Belgium.

SirBoobAlot · 23/02/2010 16:51

I have met a couple of girls called Isis. I quite like it, actually... But then I am an Egypt nut DS would (possibly) have been Nefer if he had been a girl...

TottWriter · 23/02/2010 16:54

Apparently there was a girl at my former school called Constance Strain (not sure of the sp. on that surname mind).

You do wonder, don't you.

GrimmaTheNome · 23/02/2010 16:54

Nothing wrong at all with Isis, it must be one of the oldest names in the book (or papyrus).

gingernutlover · 23/02/2010 16:55

Isis is unusual but nice

but Boden????? what next? Verbaudet?

MadreInglese · 23/02/2010 16:55

Warwick's parents must be CSI fans

ReneRusso · 23/02/2010 16:56

When I was at school there was a Theresa Green and a Mary Christmas. I am not joking.

pranma · 23/02/2010 16:57

Lawrence Olivier's granddaughter is called Isis.It is also the name given to the Thames as it runs through Oxford [as well as being an Egyptian goddess].I love the name.

5Foot5 · 23/02/2010 16:59

I used to have a colleague called Sterling Pratt

Kewcumber · 23/02/2010 17:01

Bohdan is a kazakh name but I'm pretty sure it means Proud ruler though not Poncey Clothes

SexyDomesticatedDad · 23/02/2010 17:01

Not sure of his title but he's a leading military bloke called Jock Stirup (sp?) seen on the news a fews times recently.

Lotkinsgonecurly · 23/02/2010 17:05

A local tv news reported is called Chris Peacock! Love it. (Say it quickly). They call him Christopher when together with his surname.

There is a Warwick at the local nursery too - I quite like it.

My dad went to school with a Russel Sprout.

nannynobnobs · 23/02/2010 17:09

Warwick had better be a handsome little guy if he's named after the CSI one!
There's a Saxon at DD1's school.

mishmashmoon · 23/02/2010 17:12

Wow i though i would get loads of YABU replies.lol

Veritythebrave whereabouts are you?

OP posts:
TottWriter · 23/02/2010 17:12

We had a substitute teacher called Mr Dyke. He spent quite a bit of time talking about his daughter's upcoming wedding and how much she was looking forward to it - and no wonder, he later revealed that her name was Virginia.

My surname is going to change to Lewis soon, and for that reason we were unable to name our DS 'John' after my late grandad.
