DD has just started at the local nursey attached to a school and here are a few of the names.

Boden... i kid you not
Denim...maybe too much gas and air???
isis...strange but pretty

When i heard the teacher call Boden i nearly pissed myself and so glad i didnt say anything out loud because his mum was standing infront of me.

I went to school with Richard Condon, which always made me chuckle.

I actually think Boden is quite a cool name....a bit like naming your son Ryan, or Phelps. I supose.

Prinpo · 23/02/2010 19:14

Oh Christ, I've just wet myself. Robin Bastard!

twotimes · 23/02/2010 19:17

There's a blade in my ds' class. I'm always looking around for vampires. isis isn't bad (wouldn't be my choice) denim and boden though? are they actually spelt like that or just unfortunate foreign language names

LynetteScavo · 23/02/2010 19:21

Oh look My child has a vampire name, apparently!

EggyAllenPoe · 23/02/2010 19:26

actually to come clean here, DD has a name that would look right on one for the more 'ghetto' contestants on ANTM.

nonetheless, i like it.

don't have the first clue what to call number 3 so am reading this thread with interest

twotimes · 23/02/2010 19:27

Bloody heck I thought you were going to say your Blade's mum

Shoshe · 23/02/2010 19:30

My DB is a Denholm, it was my Mom's maiden name, and is relativly common on the scots borders.

mishmashmoon · 23/02/2010 19:34

twotimes · 23/02/2010 19:36

lynette are you joking with phelps?

BrokenFlipFlop · 23/02/2010 19:50

I'm sorry but I'm still laughing at Robin Bastard. Fantastic.

lefroglet · 23/02/2010 20:03

I knew a Blade - it never occured to me when we were growing up together that it was really different or weird, and still doesn't now.

posieparker · 23/02/2010 20:03

I knew a girl at Uni called Bin and her sister was called Bambi. My father has second cousins called Mervin Marcus and Marcus Mervin(they are one set of twins, out of two, in a family with 13 children.

posieparker · 23/02/2010 20:05

And I knew a family of
Jason Argonaut
Jupiter
Angel Gabriel

I grew up near to Glastonbury!

verytellytubby · 23/02/2010 20:16

Posie they really made me chuckle!

LynetteScavo · 23/02/2010 20:23

I did know a Phelps. My friend used to baby sit him. He would be about 25 by now, and is American. I thought it was a cute name.....but I was a teenager then. I thought I might even call a DS Phelps.....

l39 · 23/02/2010 21:27

2old4thislark - Were we in the same Economics class, or is this a story Economics teachers tell as a joke? I was told that about Milton Keynes too and believed it for years, but apparently it's not true. Look
