My mum has always hated me reading the ST for some reason. She is somewhat to the left of Dennis Skinner and thinks my reading a paper like that is a Betrayal.

Completely agree with OP, but its such an ingrained habit, and DH seems to like it.
Weekend paper reading has improved a lot since I started buying the Saturday Guardian. Such a nice contrast to the Times. The money section is actually readable as it is more about how to spend less than how to invest all that extra money you have. And the family section is really nice. Plus I never finish it on saturday so I have plenty left over to read first thing on sunday before the times arrives on the doorstep.
