To think Dirt Girl World on Cbeebies is utter diarrhoea

I'm watching it at the moment with my 5 year old daughter, she seems to like it. I think it's awful. Something obout it just dosn't seem right for young children, not sure what it is. Maybe it's the dodgy title or the fact that the little girl wears make up and acts in a kind of flirty way.
I just hate it, am I alone?

yanbu

you are not alone - I started a thread about this a few weeks ago. It's horrendous and creepy

DorotheaPlenticlew · 01/02/2010 17:01

V v creepy. I posted on other thread too! DS doesn't like it either, runs to switch it off.

RockbirdandHerSpork · 01/02/2010 17:01

Nope, 'tis bollox. Don't even know what it's supposed to be about.

becstarlitsea · 01/02/2010 17:02

Hate it. But must admit I jumped to summary judgement: I haven't let DS watch more than 30 seconds of it! I just found the look of it quite disturbing.

mummyloveslucy · 01/02/2010 17:04

Oh good. Yes it is creepy, I don't know what is's about either.

tartyhighheels · 01/02/2010 17:06

yanbu - it is utter dross, dross with freaky faces on..... eeeeww

tabbycat7 · 01/02/2010 17:19

It's a total freak show! What the hell is up with their faces?!!

crankytwanky · 01/02/2010 17:21

Awful.

YANBU.

Even DD thinks she looks smug.

wilkos · 01/02/2010 17:25

creepy.

its her face. the expressions are to my eyes flirty and suggestive and wrong on so many levels.

my mum hit the nail on the head when she saw her for the first time - "what in gods name is that.....THING??"

mummyloveslucy · 01/02/2010 17:29

Lol, My Mum would say the same if she saw her. Arn't Mums great!

i just think it's rubbish and totally weird. Is it from Aus?NZ?
I don't get the title either/

lovechoc · 01/02/2010 17:35

can someone PLEASE tell me who plays Dirtgirl and who plays her male friend (have forgotten his name!)? DS loves it but DH and myself hate the show. It's just creepy and wrong!

we both want to know what actors play those characters, have Googled it but no luck so far. Even the website doesn't let on who they are.

lovechoc · 01/02/2010 17:37

or is it all just computer generated??

SeasideLil · 01/02/2010 17:39

It's the coy fluttering of the eyes, the constant blinking, the pouting mouth etc. Completely wrong for a children's show. Her head is also too large, like a Bratz doll. We all just have a good laugh when it comes on.

Doodleydoo · 01/02/2010 17:45

Have to run and hide in the other room and put on Peppa! She is scary, the slug thing is even scarier (trying to kill the bloke thing...) not my idea of fun at all! But perhaps my dd is too small? Not too sure about the Green Balloon Club either, there are quite a few irritating kids on that reminds me of Why don't you the most irritating people in the world!!!!

SarahMumtoAlex · 01/02/2010 17:46

I knew one of the animators when I was younger and I must admit to being embarassed because she asked me for DS's opinion of it (on Facebook) and I didn't answer because he hated it (so did I) Its Canadian.

Rollmops · 01/02/2010 17:57

To think Cbeebies is utter diarrhoea ...
I am, of course, not requesting the learned opinions of MNs as I know I am right.

Dillie · 01/02/2010 18:01

Glad I am not the only one that thinks its weird/freaky!!

Watched it a few times, but fortunately (or unfortunately) dd is more into Dora etc!

BouncingTurtle · 01/02/2010 18:11

No it is totally vile...maybe we should start a campaign to get it off cbeebies??

EdgarAllenSnow · 01/02/2010 18:18

DD likes it - though she was scared at first, she likes the music.

i must play her more rawk

Miggsie · 01/02/2010 18:24

DD's comment: "mummy is her head going to EXPLODE?!"

We immediately go for catch up TV and watch Big and Small when dirtgirl comes on.

I think she looks like the model for the front of the Avon catalogue...don't know why...!

JemL · 01/02/2010 18:52

YANBU

It was Dirt Girl World that made me finally snap and ban cbeebies. I have told DS1 that we no longer have it as it costs too much money. DS2 is 15 weeks old, sohe isn't bothered.

It is creepy for all the reasons above, plus the title sounds like some weid euphamism for something involving anal sex.

Batteryhuman · 01/02/2010 18:54

I'm just so impressed that you can spell diarr......I give up, squitty poo.

mummyloveslucy · 02/02/2010 20:06

I googled it, to be honest. I can't spell. and
