Are you such a good parent...?

Honestly, are you online "theorising about good parenting" whilst your kids are watching telly in the other room. If you're such a good parent, why aren't you making things or playing with the kids?

OP posts:
AppleTreeWick · 18/01/2010 18:32

Appletreewick looks up "all OK girls?"

"Hrungff" DD1
"Snurgggh" DD2

See fine

But hey thanks for caring

heQet · 18/01/2010 18:40

Mine are off swimming with their dad! I also mn during the day when I should be doing the housework

Who spends all day every day breathing down their kids necks, forcing them to do fun things with mum. Mine would rather eat cat litter than be forced to play with me all day!

Part of being a good parent is getting the balance right between doing stuff together and everyone doing their own thing. Do you think that people who post on here never interact with their children. What a strange conclusion to reach. Based on what evidence?

I mean, who would sit at the computer while their child was asking for their attention? Nobody. We sit here while we are not needed elsewhere! (Or while we are avoiding doing dull tasks like washing up! )

heQet · 18/01/2010 18:45

Actually, don't we have someone who comes on every few months to say this exact thing and insult us a bit while we speculate that it is a ugly old bloke who lives with his aged mother and has never had a shag and suggest rather offensive things about the nature of their relationship?

MillyR · 18/01/2010 18:48

Why are trolls so fond of ellipsis use? Is it their calling card?

Batteryhuman · 18/01/2010 18:56

I'm not "theorising about good parenting" while my kids watch TV I'm reading amusing answers to a troll-y thread on MN (while my kids watch TV.

Morloth · 18/01/2010 19:00

DS has gone to do a poo now, as he is his father's son he has taken a book. Should I go see if he needs any assistance do you think?

fiveisanawfullybignumber · 18/01/2010 19:01

Mine are cooped up in the lounge watching tv with a can of coke/fruit shoot (choose one depending on age) and a big tub of pringles. If they dare set foot outside of the lounge, the robot hoover will get them, see I'm a lazy slattern too!

CantSupinate · 18/01/2010 19:02

I'm ignoring mine for 5 minutes because if I didn't I'd throttle one of them instead.

PuppyMonkey · 18/01/2010 19:04

I can multitask.

onlyjoinedforoffers · 18/01/2010 19:05

mine are both at the gym with dh

Toffeepopple · 18/01/2010 19:07

Ha ha - DS reading to DD. Am "encouraging sibling bonding" dontcha know.

StanleyAccrington · 18/01/2010 19:07

DH is at home.
honestly, why keep a dog and bark yourself?

MissPopOff · 18/01/2010 19:09

that's what I was supposed to do at 5pm.... collect DD from nursery. Ah fuck it, she is warm and am sure she can reach a pack of raw rice, so I may as well carry on MN'ing.

OP, you are a knob.

kslatts · 18/01/2010 19:16

Mine are at Brownies, so happily cutting and sticking no doubt while I mumsnet.

ShellingPeas · 18/01/2010 19:20

My DCs are currently in the crawl space under the floor where they live, except when they go to school to be educated by those who don't spend their life on MN.

Has to be so, otherwise when else would I have the time to MN and read The Sun.

The Sun! The Fecking Sun! FFS OP are you completely deluded! Are you sure you're on the right website? Everyone knows that on here we ONLY read the Daily Mail.

dizietsma · 18/01/2010 19:20

DD is making pasta with her dad.

SerendipitousHarlot · 18/01/2010 19:42

Mine are in bed.

I suspect that the OP has disappeared because it's past lock up.

Irons · 18/01/2010 19:45

Mums would not survive if we couldn't multitask.

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 18/01/2010 21:10

am I the only person here who googled "ellipsis use" to discover that it is a bad habit of mine .

Anyway... come along OP, you must try harder, we may be neglecting our children (which you know because you have stuck two toilet rolls onto your computer-- invented a special gadget which looks into everyones house?) but are funny with it. You are just being rather dull.

Very disappointing

Buddleja · 18/01/2010 21:25

Mine are snorting the coke that is left over from my orgy last night.

I don't charge them for the coke, which in theory makes me a good parent.

ruddynorah · 18/01/2010 21:30

well at this time i think i'm 'allowed' on thanks. dd is in bed and ds is in his basket sleeping next to me.

when i'm on during the day it's usually when dd is at nursery and i'm feeding ds or ds is napping.

LittleMrsHappy · 18/01/2010 21:32

Coming from the person, who's online!

My children are in bed, Im drinking some vino!

shock horror!

MrsFlittersnoop · 18/01/2010 21:34

I'm far too OLD to care about this shit.

Maternal Anxiety/Guilt - it plops out with the umbilical cord in all its multi-coloured glory.

Get a Life.

Quattrocento · 18/01/2010 21:36

My children are in bed

That is because I am of course a magnificent parent and get them to bed at a reasonable hour for school the next day ...

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 18/01/2010 22:41

My children are fast asleep, have been for a hour which is good going.

I am however texting my 'drug dealer' (no, really) hoping she can come over tomorrow and sort my aunt out with something to smoke (she's 44 , terminal bowel cancer)
