Are you such a good parent...?

Honestly, are you online "theorising about good parenting" whilst your kids are watching telly in the other room. If you're such a good parent, why aren't you making things or playing with the kids?

OP posts:
queenoftheslatterns · 18/01/2010 17:51

dull now, dull dull dull!

KERALA1 · 18/01/2010 17:51

Because parents are never allowed a minute off - not a second. Even when the LO is napping they should be standing guard over the cot to the OP.

Hulababy · 18/01/2010 17:51

No, I don't worry. My DD is more than capable of playing by herself for periods of time, which is something I actually think is very important for all children. Children should not require directing at all times.

Besides you are on MN are you not? Why, if it is so bad?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/01/2010 17:52

Au contraire, I'm very clever, me.

It's called Time Management

Morloth · 18/01/2010 17:52

and Twitter, I also enjoy the communities on LJ which mock stupid people.

You say emptyheadedmoron like it is a bad thing.

Hulababy · 18/01/2010 17:53

True Jamie...

Besides, probably n time to justify myself...my DD has been neglected for last fortnight or s, what with me being so ill and having a spell in hospital...she is probably used to it

MrsMattie · 18/01/2010 17:53

What do you do with your time, Telly? Enlighten us morons, oh do!

I practice Old Days parenting because everything was So Much Better then. Thus I've taken in some washing, visited the butcher and the baker, washed the front door step, cooked every meal from scratch, beaten the rug, washed the windows and gossiped with the neighbours, all while my child has been playing barefoot in the street using an old brick as a football.

He will Grow Up To Be A Credit To Me.

Writes for a quality newspaper The Daily Mail ?

Lulumama · 18/01/2010 17:56

telly, if you don't like MN and MNers, you can leave you know

rather than parading your clearly superior parenting skills and poking fun/disdain at everyone else

surely you are guilty of the same thing, if you are sat here, on MN

One is at Rainbows, one is watching TV, one is reading books (which is amazing considering she is 18 months!) and I am sitting on my very sore SPD bum incubating the 4th one.

I look up occasionally to tell them off.

Ironic that the person who is asking do we have nothing better to do, is starting threads to interact with empty head morons.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/01/2010 17:59

Molly you are right. Will stop now.

Sassybeast · 18/01/2010 18:01

I have some of them magic TV children that only appear when my life needs extra cuteness. It really helps.

Kidding. I don't have any, so I can spaff around on here as much as I like.

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 18/01/2010 18:14

Now I have a dilemma - if I post to tell MollyRoger that her sign is very clever, am I feeding the troll?

Morloth - my dh used to think the same way as yours, but he's realised now that unless he does the ironing, he'll have no shirts to wear, so he watches crap sci fi movies and does the ironing early on a saturday morning whilst I get a lie in.

My secret? I beat him regularly!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 18/01/2010 18:15

PS - beating dh - joke.

cory · 18/01/2010 18:18

I think we ought to feed our children to the troll. Then we can go on Mumsnetting in peace. Neat, eh?

Morloth · 18/01/2010 18:21

Oh no StayingDavidTennantsGirl DH has much more useful things to be doing on a Saturday morning. Someone has to make the tea and bring it to me in bed with something nice to eat.

Strangely enough ironing work shirts is one of the few household tasks that I kinda like doing.

queenoftheslatterns · 18/01/2010 18:25

i like ironing too. have a lovely big pile to do this evening while watching soaps and glee (interspersed with mn and fb of course)
