Are you such a good parent...?

Honestly, are you online "theorising about good parenting" whilst your kids are watching telly in the other room. If you're such a good parent, why aren't you making things or playing with the kids?

Mine is practicing Waybuloo yoga on the floor whilst supping Pinky-Ponk juice and pondering the intelligence of grapes on a pizza....

wearthefoxhat · 18/01/2010 17:24

Mine are flicking through the adult channels on the telly while I ring for a takeaway - is that the right answer? Do I win a prize?

queenoftheslatterns · 18/01/2010 17:24

jamie,

cocolepew · 18/01/2010 17:25

TheBossofMe · 18/01/2010 17:25

Because I'm at work whilst DD is at home with her Dad. Leaving work soon...

nickelbabe · 18/01/2010 17:25

Mandy1966 · 18/01/2010 17:27

Yeah Iam JHMT..lol

Telly Kids Whilst Your On Line, where are your kids then?

ShinyAndNew · 18/01/2010 17:28

I've copied CrackFox.

Or they are playing wii fit with each other. I didn't have that extra child for nothing you know

KurriKurri · 18/01/2010 17:28

Mine are grown-up, the fragment of control I ever had over them has vanished.

Therefore I do what I like

MrsMattie · 18/01/2010 17:29

Love that I just contributed to a thread elsewhere on tasty supper ideas for your 4 yr old and am now ringing out for Dominos.

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 18/01/2010 17:30

mine is with Grandma - no doubt cutting and sticking or something suitable. I' am at work. You need to worry more about my porr employers and less about my poor child!

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 18/01/2010 17:31

I don't theorise about parenting - I KNOW!!

And I have just suggested doing a bit of cutting and gluing, and getting out the glitter, but the dses (12, 14 and 16) just looked at me as if I was cracked - which I probably am.

TheCrackFox - is a garden shed an acceptable substitute for a coal cellar - because the developers who built this estate unaccountably forgot to put in any cellars, coal or otherwise. Shoddy, I call it.

TheWorldFamousKewcumber · 18/01/2010 17:32

Mandy, Telly Kids Whilst Your On Line doesn;t have children they are a journo getting us to write researching an article

MollyRoger · 18/01/2010 17:32

because i was a good parent for years before I discovered MN and then started neglecting them

One is peeling carrots for his tea, the other is playing guitar hero. I am in the same room, with earphones on, listening to music and Mnetting.

by the way Mrsmattie I find your post most offensive

Morloth · 18/01/2010 17:33

Dominos is tasty.

mrsruffallo · 18/01/2010 17:34

Are you that journo who hates mumsnet?

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/01/2010 17:34

I am a rubbish parent, but I write well.

Tellykidswhilstyouareonline · 18/01/2010 17:35

Wink, wink, nudge, nudge... my kids are causing havoc, I don't care... etc etc Grow up!
You probably read The Sun's problem pages whilst the cleaner works around you. Moaning about your DH - you should take a good, long hard look at yourselves.

mrsruffallo · 18/01/2010 17:36

It it some kind of self loathing that brings you
back here Telly?

Francagoestohollywood · 18/01/2010 17:36

Mine are playing with the lovely american lady who comes once a week to speak English to them (so that they don't totally forget the English they learnt in the first yrs of their life).
I've just finished cooking dinner and going to open a beer in 5.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 18/01/2010 17:36

Mmmmmmm - I think I know who you are ..........

Mandy1966 · 18/01/2010 17:36

TROLL then??

MrsMattie · 18/01/2010 17:36

Love it@Morloth. Had completely forgotten it existed until you mentioned it

The OP is clearly working for The Wright Stuff. Come on, admit it! Anyway...Benign Neglect is a fashionable new parenting approach. Go and tell Matthew that!

Morloth · 18/01/2010 17:37

I read the Guardian, the cleaner has buggered off on her honeymoon somewhere warm, and I quite like my DH. Looks hard at self, nope not seeing any issues...

mamazon · 18/01/2010 17:37

cos i want to and its none of your fucking business.
