I watched this and thought that these police officers, that are clearly on duty as they are in full uniform, should have something more important to do.

Please watch this and let me know what you think.

Are you a journalist? Your wording is a bit..odd...[hmmm]

Trying to get quotes? Cos it has been in the paper loads already....

Apologies if I am wrong, but given your name, and why would someone who is a regular poster namechange for that???

TurnYourFrownUpsideDown · 15/01/2010 17:07

oh chill

they've had their carpeting already by the Super

tuck yer judgey pants back in

ShowOfHands · 15/01/2010 17:07

There you are

Might be some nice quotes for your article on there.

RolandButter · 15/01/2010 17:08

oh god stop moaning you lot

BendyBob · 15/01/2010 17:08

Think there has been a thread about this..

I think it's hilarious The shields make great sledges. It'll backfire the next time someone rings the police and they dont turn up though..

ShowOfHands · 15/01/2010 17:08

X-posts. We all have our suspicious hats on today.

Eve · 15/01/2010 17:08

looks great fun... I think they should share those shields!

Go read the DM.

LoveBeingAMummy · 15/01/2010 17:09

Dh and I laughed when we saw the film of this last night

ShowOfHands · 15/01/2010 17:09

I think they might get there faster in this weather scooting along on their shields.

JeremyVile · 15/01/2010 17:09

Oh dont be so ridiculously joyless.
Do you think they turned their radios off so they could play hooky?
They do a job that is bloody grim at times, so they took a few minutes to have a bit of fun in the snow, so what?
Do we even know that they weren't just off shift? Presumably this is next to their station. Not that that even matters imo.

And why have you namechanged?

CopsBehavingBadly · 15/01/2010 17:10

No, im not a journalist. I just saw this and wanted to share my disgust.

Xposted with everybloodybody.

lal123 · 15/01/2010 17:11

I laughed at this too - good to see policemen enjoying themselves and being human!!

JeremyVile · 15/01/2010 17:11

I dont want to share your disgust thanks.
Why have you namechanged?

threetimemummy · 15/01/2010 17:11

Bwahahahahahaha. Then why not use your "real" name?? Can you not own your opinions?

hatwoman · 15/01/2010 17:12

they got reprimanded for it. but the guy who filmed tehm was complimentary about them - imo that's 5 mins investment in positve community relations, not a waste of time.

threetimemummy · 15/01/2010 17:12

@ "everybloodybody"

CopsBehavingBadly · 15/01/2010 17:12

I am not a regular poster, tbh. But I do read alot of Mumsnet and give my two cents every now and again.....

OP posts:
lilolilmanchester · 15/01/2010 17:12

I think they probably did the police's street cred & reputation a huge amount of good. If they had turned radios off or ignored calls/neglected serious police duty, then that's a different matter but otherwise they are bonding with the community.

TurnYourFrownUpsideDown · 15/01/2010 17:15

but why change your name to 'share your disgust'?

methinks you might be being a tad disingenuous

and lol at everybloodybody JV

Awassailinglookingforanswers · 15/01/2010 17:18

first I've heard of this story - but just watched the youtube clip and am - I'm not disgusted in the slightest - so long as (as others have said) they didn't have their radios turned off etc) no problem at all.

CopsBehavingBadly · 15/01/2010 17:20

Ok, I suppose you have a point with the community bonding and the police can have fun... I guess I am just being boring.....

Lilolil said exaclty what I was going to say pretty much exactly in fact.
I think it shows a profession that is often treated badly (and they are very often treated badly by some parts of the public) in a human light and it is a bit of community policing really I wouldn't say their only job is to pund the streets looking menacing at everyone.

LaurieFairyCake · 15/01/2010 17:22
