I watched this and thought that these police officers, that are clearly on duty as they are in full uniform, should have something more important to do.

Please watch this and let me know what you think.

YABU. My only thought was that I wish I could get my hands on a riot shield as they look more fun than a sledge.

I thought it was great too and sent it to my sis last night. She told me that people were up in arms and I was . I just couldn't believe that anyone would be so small-minded (sorry OP, but yes, YABU)

YABU they took some time out to have bit of fun and let of some steam, they weren't sitting on there arses watching grannies be mugged.
I take it neither yourself or anyone in your family are officers otherwise you would be aware of the amount of pressure, overtime and difficulties the recent weather has been on the force around the UK.
If you really want to talk about wasting police time why don't you worry about all mountain of paperwork they have to complete each day for the inane stupid 'crimes' that people moan about.

This reminds me. When DS was small, his CM's son's car was nicked and some police came round to interview him about it, and because of where the car was nicked from, the cops had a four hour round trip journey so weren't best pleased. DS was there at the time, wearing 3y-os camoflague gear. He came home with an charge sheet made out in his name, his finger prints "taken", and the charge was "being invisible". He was entranced, thought the police were great. Of course those two could have been charged with wilfully wasting police property by this bit of PR and fun.

I thought it was funny too, I want a riot shield to sledge on, did you see the distance the cop make on that shield????
