for a fortnight at Christmas and for them to have come back having gained a huge new Abercrombie & Fitch wardrobe and 4kgs apiece?

Mentalistes!

violethill · 07/01/2010 15:12

How do you know I'm not Xenia? I may have various persona, while carrying out experiments as research for my own book! (Written in my free time, when I'm not engaged in my senior position!)

slim22 · 07/01/2010 15:12

Boss, if you'd listened to me, you'd now know that the sickly sweetness of nutella masks the greasy aftertaste and makes you very thirsty.

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:12

Ah yes, we're missing bumsex from this thread....any opinions on that, Anna?

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 15:14

I'll have you know that I've filled out five school application forms this morning in between chatting to you lot. They are immensely long and tedious and not demanding, but they still took a lot of time. And have played a lot of puzzles with DD, had an hour long tel conversation about statutes and parent surveys, made lunch, done a load of laundry... and am now doing origami!

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:14

Must buy some Nutella, must buy some Nutella, must buy some Nutella.

Not for use in bumsex though.

There you go, bumsex is now officially part of this thread....

cyteen · 07/01/2010 15:15

As a calorie-burner it's alright but just think of the mess! [shudder]

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:16

Did you do any of those jobs particularly well....? Probably not for you to answer....

Swedington · 07/01/2010 15:16

Isn't origmai fattening?

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:16

Idly wonders how to remove Nutella stains from bedsheets....

cyteen · 07/01/2010 15:17

rofl @ 'doing origami'. I've been practising my astral projection while knocking up a quick tartiflette, donchaknow.

violethill · 07/01/2010 15:17

Origami while typing?

Not bad.

Now, if you can butter a croissant at the same time, while giving Monsieur Bonsoir a blow job to keep him from straying and hold down a senior position as well, I'll be really impressed!

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:18

Who the hell does origami, by the way????

bellissima · 07/01/2010 15:18

If 'using for research' means that you aren't always criticising your DP's ex, or that you (or DP) aren't obsessively weighing his children or giving them weight targets then frankly that's a huge relief. If 'using for research' means some Bonsoir interpretation of 'testing self control' then I might point out that you rapidly lose your own self control and start accusing others of 'attacks' and 'fabrication' if they actually dare to tell you something you don't want to hear about your own background and insecurities, rather than simply engaging in your circular debate on the desirability of croissants etc and therefore demonstrating their own naturally inferior and parochial views. Seeing MNers as a group of the unenlightened and unsophisticated crying out for a little continental (belge/french - whatever) wisdom and use in une experience is, well I think Portofino has already said it - possibly the most patronising thing on here.

TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:19

Just realised that I have bits of croissant stuck in my keyboard. Damn.

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 15:20

I did them all to my usual exacting standards except for the origami which DD thinks needs stapling... she is only 5, and if she wants to staple origami, that is absolutely fine!

OP posts:
Georgimama · 07/01/2010 15:20

That just sounds like the stuff I do as well as going to work, but there we are, proves the maxim about a task expanding to fill the time available to it...

violethill · 07/01/2010 15:22

How true Georgiemama!

Hullygully · 07/01/2010 15:22

I don't think origami is altogether French. You should have done something with silk.

BigusBumus · 07/01/2010 15:23

Exactly TheBossofMe. But then this is the person has said in a previous post that she leaves her (then) 4yr old DD alone in the flat whilst she goes shopping, and didn't see what on Earth was wrong with that when questioned.

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 15:23

Oh bellissima - what can I say? Maybe you should start your own thread and observe the reactions?

OP posts:
TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 15:24

Ah, I see about the origami! I thought you meant it was a hobby of yours!

Still sounds like semi-engaged parenting to me, not the picture you like to normally portray. I wouldn't count doing origami with my daughter in between posting on MN as exactly devoting quality time to her

slim22 · 07/01/2010 15:24

tut tut Anna Stapling origami is unheard of!
Bin it and start over, show your daughter some self discipline, voyons!

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 15:27

I think my DD benefits hugely from MN - it means I am in the background and constantly available if she needs me (I mean, there aren't exactly emergency postings required here) but I'm not breathing down her neck and helicopter parenting. Ideal, really!

BigusBumus · 07/01/2010 15:28

hahahahahaha
