for a fortnight at Christmas and for them to have come back having gained a huge new Abercrombie & Fitch wardrobe and 4kgs apiece?

OP posts:
SycamoretreeIsVile · 07/01/2010 14:34

Not a few days, the Christmas period being approx from 24th Dec to 4th Jan. So a couple of weeks.

Answer would mainly be in cheese, chocolate and alcohol I would imagine.

slim22 · 07/01/2010 14:35

or pre-menstrual ( works as an answer for How can you gain 7lbs in a few days AND why do people loose their temper here)

MadameDefarge · 07/01/2010 14:35

You see Anna, now you confess you were on an MN wind up, as you knew what would happen, I sort of think you get what you expected....can't moan now...

However you did say it was true, so those posters who feel that there is an issue with your position have responded as they do in AIBU, I refer you to the caveats inserted by MNHQ.

BadRomance · 07/01/2010 14:35

oh and I often give the DC a ham or chicken filled croissant for lunch with veg on the side.

Surely better than but not dissimilar to a pie or pastie?

Georgimama · 07/01/2010 14:36

Depends what they are being provoked about, I suppose. There are plenty of things that could be said to me that would brush straight off me, where others would see red, and vice versa.

Swedington · 07/01/2010 14:36

Bonsoir "any poster who fabricates misinformation about me immediately drops to zero in my esteem"

Is that size zero?

Bad joke

Must do work. Must do work.

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 14:37

Christmas has become a consumption-fest, when it ought to be a love-fest, IMO. Consumer society - lack of control - bla-di-bla.

OP posts:
TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 14:40

So here is something that I never thought I'd hear myself saying, but Anna is right....about the croissants at least!

Two croissants do leave you feeling full (well, full enough that I haven't finished the second one) and rather sick (slightly unpleasant "too much fat coating inside of mouth" feeling).

Well, well....

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 14:40

Is it trolling when you use your own life events to test your theories of typical MN behaviour?

OP posts:
TheBossofMe · 07/01/2010 14:41

And before anyone asks, I usually eat a lot(although would probably be judged to be slim even by Anna's exacting standards!)

HerBeatitude · 07/01/2010 14:41

oh nonsense the midwinter festival has always been about excess

cyteen · 07/01/2010 14:42

Bla-di-bla indeed.

scottishmummy · 07/01/2010 14:43

think you are prone to embellishment and like a ruck.throwing just enough titbits to maintain interest.you know the cues that will push people buttons and like doing it

ComeOveneer · 07/01/2010 14:46

I lost 1lb (smug),because I enjoyed everything in moderation, and because my parents were here with their dog so did hours of walking (plus rollerblading/bike riding with the children).

MadameDefarge · 07/01/2010 14:46

it is trolling to use your life events on a forum mostly based in a country which does not espouse the same values on weight as those you espouse.

I assume you do it to see what the lardy arsed MNetters will do.

Trolling.

And disrespectful.

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 14:46

I like testing people's behaviour, that's for sure! However, I am no embellisher of the truth - why would I want to be, when there are so many posters out there for reasons that totally escape me who wish to do so for me! Including you, scottishmummy, which rather surprises me given your usually minimalist posting style...

OP posts:
violethill · 07/01/2010 14:47

Trouble is you've spoilt the game now Bonsoir! Everyone will do a piss take, or at least not respond genuinely to your posts now (rather than just the majority of us who already do that!) So bang goes any chance ot testing typical MN behaviour!

And don't think name changing will save you - we'll track you down!

MadameDefarge · 07/01/2010 14:48

Yes, like testing people's behaviour, and people like pointing out the arrogant smuggery of your position. Everyone happy, eh?

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 14:49

I think it depends on the poster, violethill. I have a quite respectable persona on Style & Beauty or Good Housekeeping, you know

OP posts:
slim22 · 07/01/2010 14:49

"so this blathering was to test your theories of typical MN behaviour" ?

Had you not better pick up a decent book?

Bonsoir · 07/01/2010 14:51

Why not do primary research on a population of willing participants?

OP posts:
violethill · 07/01/2010 14:52

Think she's writing the book slim. And this is part of the research!

ComeOveneer · 07/01/2010 14:52

I think it is the way you postanna, with an air of "I know better than you" superiority that gets people's backs up tbh.

cyteen · 07/01/2010 14:52

There is a well-known and self-confessed troll on another board I frequent whose style is exactly the same as yours, Bonsoir. So yes, it is trolling. Trolling doesn't always have to be harmful or mean, it can be amusing, revealing and pathetic too

slim22 · 07/01/2010 14:52

Anna, now I can't help but picture you as Bree Van De Camp ( the TV one, not the MN one).
You will note I paid you a compliment here.
