and plead with them to make Creamola Foam?

I can taste it now, and really fancy some. Every few months or so i crave it, raspberry flavour.
Does anyone know why it isn't around any more? Wasn't it really popular?

I think the recipe was lost.

PrammyMammy · 03/01/2010 23:55

I just read online that it is Premier Foods that own the rights to it now.

YABU to buy anything from Nestle.

BertieBotts · 04/01/2010 00:20

No the recipe was lost - the Scots sold it to the English (Premier Foods?) and they promptly lost it

It ought to be recreateable though, it was only bicarbonate of soda and a load of flavourings, and I bet they'd have loads of volunteer testers. You can get something sort of close by making extremely strong squash and adding bicarb of soda to it, I discovered. It's not quite right though.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 00:20

We are not all Nestle boycotting btw

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 00:33

GoddessRidingSantasSleigh · 04/01/2010 00:55

..... and its definitely nice?

LetThereBeRock · 04/01/2010 00:56

It was the most delicious drink known to man.

BertieBotts · 04/01/2010 01:13

No it wasn't, it was horrible. But I still would like it back in the interests of nostalgia (I used to drink it loads when we went to my cousin's even though I hated it because it was so weird, like drinking some kind of magic potion)

Then again I hate everything raspberry flavoured because of the horror that was JOY RIDES travel sickness tablets so it may not be the cremola foam at fault here.

LetThereBeRock · 04/01/2010 01:26

No it really was delicious. I wasn't very fond of the orange but the raspberry was heavenly.

Hando · 04/01/2010 01:38

I have to ask - why do people boycott nestle? What have they done? Someone tell me, pllllllease?

BertieBotts · 04/01/2010 01:43

The short version is they market(ed?) formula very heavily in the third world (including giving out free samples to last mothers long enough for their milk to dry up) causing many babies to die from being fed formula made up with dirty water or watered down to last longer, among other causes of death related to not breastfeeding. They knew this was happening but they carried on doing it because it made them money.

Hando · 04/01/2010 01:55

But Nestle make Milky Ways, Smarties and Kitkats. I cannot boycott my 3 main midnight snacks!

Why would 3rd world mothers use formula when their water is contaminated and they probably do not have a sterile environment to make bottles up in? I can se no benefits to using forumla for them? Where did these 3rd world mothers get the money to afford to pay for formula? How odd.

I have googled and they make SMA. My dd was formula fed and we used SMA - their tins make great storage boxes too btw.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 04/01/2010 06:49

developing world mothers used formula because they were misinformed and led to believe that formula was better than BM (much like western women were, but our water isn't contaminated) and also especially that HIV pos women shouldn't bf (wrong).
It was an aggressive and long ranging campaign with the deliberate intention of causing women to stop bf and start buying formula (which is also not regulated in how it is advertised in other parts of the world).
You can buy other chocolate
I used SMA too and nestle sold it long ago to another, american company. I don't think nestle actually own any UK formula brands anymore.

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 04/01/2010 06:52

just have 5 minutes read if you have time here
