and plead with them to make Creamola Foam?

I can taste it now, and really fancy some. Every few months or so i crave it, raspberry flavour.
Does anyone know why it isn't around any more? Wasn't it really popular?

they bought their milk from Mugabe in Zimbabwe until Oct and only stopped when people protested.

  • they are one or two points short of an ethical company to say the least!

And are the most boycotted brand in the world.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 09:00

Well its personal choice, I am aware of what Nestle do in the Third World with regards to promoting their formula and undermining bf, just because I am a Mumsnetter does not mean i am required to boycotte Nestle. Its my freedom of choice if i want to, just as its your choice to boycotte imo. I like Nestle choccie so therefore i will eat it as i want my choice really.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 09:02

Though I disagree with what they do, it not really my passion or area of interest, my love of chocolate is stronger and could not boycotte for an indefinite period sorry but thats me.

belgo · 04/01/2010 09:11

pigletmania - there is far better chocolate in the world then Nestle! (says she who has a box of After Eights in her cupboard)

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 09:17

Well Maltesers are my upmost fav he he and have been since i was 6 so not having them forever for me would be

MargeSimpsonMyAlterEgo · 04/01/2010 09:18

hmm. I've boycotted Nestle since early 80's - it is possible, but it's hard! However in the chocolate field it's not so hard - Nestle chocolate tastes shite and all the Rowntrees stuff (quality street, kitkats, after8s etc) has tasted disgusting since Nestle bought the company. The real danger is if Nestle get their hands on Cadburys - then what will I do??!!

wordgirl · 04/01/2010 09:19

I don't think Maltesers are made by Nestle. I think they're Mars.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 09:21

just because a MNetter does not boycotte Nestle does not make them U at all, just really not their area of interest. Really the superpowers (US) should be doing something to stop this practice, what are the UN doing. I would boycott for a certain period but a lifetime i just could not as a lot of choccie i like is made by the brand

belgo · 04/01/2010 09:22

I also though Milky Way were Mars.

ShinyAndNew · 04/01/2010 09:26

Malteasers are definately Mars. They came in the dds Mars selection box. Their Nestle ones weren't that appealing actually. Nit much nice choccy in there.

"Where did these 3rd world mothers get the money to afford to pay for formula? How odd."
exactly. once the free samples dried up (at around the same time as their breastmilk) then buying formula financially crippled lots of them, and formula was watered down.

thanks SF I don't actually boycott Nestle (but not that keen on the chocolate) but you've inspired me to start now!
Obvious things are coffee & chocolate, are there any less obvious things?

Pigletmania- how old are you?
"I like their chocolate so I'm going to keep on eating it regardless of their practices"??????

My 3yo knows kitkats are yummy (had at other people's parties) but that we don't buy them, we choose something else. It's not as though there is a dearth of confectionary in the UK.

I suppose (sweeping judgment alert) you use your tumble dryer for every load and driv e everywhere too.

cocothepelvis · 04/01/2010 09:43

I loved Cremola Foam when I was young, I bet it it was brought back it would now taste vile . I'm willing to give it a go though. I used to pour sherbet in mine so it exploded.

just another thought-read this

One reason I will never ever buy nestle products even if they do suddenly develop a conscience about the formula marketing.

follow the link on the page as well

cocothepelvis · 04/01/2010 09:47

No it was a drink, frothy and fizzy and sweet. Very popular in NI and Scotland.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 09:58

captainnancy to boycott its your choice, but not something that is close to my heart enough for me to make a big lifestyle change I am afraid.

pigletmania · 04/01/2010 10:00

Thanks differentid for that, after reading that would be enough to change me and my opinion of Nestle as child slavery is something i feel much more strongly about

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 04/01/2010 10:03

dying babies 'not close to your heart'? 'not your area of interest'?

strewth.
