I just can't stay away from AIBU....it's a more compulsive and shameful addiction than reading the Daily Mail online; same sense of barely-suppressed hatred and scorn, same vicious female bitchiness and judgemental outrage.

Happy New Year all of you...

Surely you don't get your MN stripes until you've been on the business end of a vicious bout of ill-concieved vitriol?

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/01/2010 18:40

AIBU serves a useful social function it groups all the op fuckwits in one handy thread.makes it easier to deride them as you dont even have to look hard for them

all the husband moaners, just waiting to be told yanbu."he shouldn't stir your tea like that he's an abuser"
all the mil haters moaning the ole bat wants to see her grandchild.what a cowwwww
all the emotionally incontinent having a good ole gurn
the pious social observers askance at another mum's parenting style

love aibu,as it is laugh out loud and frankly beggars belief at times

and as it says at the top of the thread
"Please bear in mind that this topic encourages posters to give their opinions - i.e. they might disagree with you."

so dont throw a fit if people disagree

Batteryhuman · 03/01/2010 18:47

Its not repulsively bitchy (well not often). It is gloriously, amusingly and most important of all ANONYMOUSLY bitchy. If you ask people to comment in AIBU then you are inviting a no-holds-barred reaction. You do not have to face anyone at the school gates the next day.

I haven't been on here long, am in the first stages of addiction and love AIBU

Some of the elderly MNers get huffy about it ever having been invented, because it Lowers The Tone. Not me...

I am probably too dim thick-skinned to notice. Although I did briefly have a cyber-stalker. Until she realised I was very dull and went back to RL
