AIBU to be annoyed when I make a really good point on a thread

and then it's ignored, and either I have to repeat it, or then someone else comes and makes exactly the same point and everyone goes "oh yes, that's quite clever" "what a good and inciteful point" and so on. Maybe I should just type in caps?
So, AIBU?

I recognize everyone's nn on this thread so there.

YABU OP but I do know what you mean. I always think when I post that no one knows who I am but to think, oh there's that moronic American again.

Sounds like a lovely concert Pag!

ButterySpud · 03/12/2009 16:00

This thread make me laugh at the time for the complete ignoring of the stupid comment in the middle

Like a serious sandwich.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:03

Hello Cheerful Yank. I always thought more of a jolly old tug on the pigtails about your name. Just goes to show!

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:03

Buttery - and it's the only interesting comment as well.

OrmIrian · 03/12/2009 16:04

Well the answer is not to make a really good point. Best to blether on pointlessly all the time then no-one can ignore you.

ButterySpud · 03/12/2009 16:04

True - i think that's why i remembered it..

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:06

Ha ha ha! I usually find that by the time I have composed my searingly insightful reply, in a witty and entertaining way, having spell checked and namechecked the people I ought to acknowledge, and re-read cos I hate being caught out by the grammer police (sic) and finally pressed post - by that time the thread has moved off on an obscure tangent and now comprises a select group of 4 or 5 posters making arrangements for their next meetup together

bibbitybobbityhat · 03/12/2009 16:09

Oh good point Hully. Very true. Wish I had your way with words.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:10

Me too.

santaschristmascakeywakey · 03/12/2009 16:19

I love it when other poster studiously ignore comments that are there for a giggle.

I also smile when anyone with a diametrically opposed viewpoint posts and everyone else just keeps serenley posting in their own little world. Again, a bit like RL. Or at least school life

OrmIrian · 03/12/2009 16:20

santa - I do that. Post stupid like puns and jokes. Which get ignored probably because they are childish and beneath contempt.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:24

CheerfulYank · 03/12/2009 16:24

I'm actually wearing pigtails today, Hully...perfectly acceptable look for a 27 year old woman, eh? Tug away!

santaschristmascakeywakey · 03/12/2009 16:24

I post childish comments too - and a usually feel a bit afterwards. Sometimes I'm glad that people ignore me!

BTW, I like people calling me Santa now that I've got my festive name change. Must work on wobbling my belly like a big bowl of jelly Where's that selection box?

OrmIrian · 03/12/2009 16:28

Hully - you just copied me!

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:30

Oh no I didn't.

I suspect that what is happening to you is that the OP is aware that someone has made a particular suggestion and they read backwards to get the name so the most recent posting is the first one they get to.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 16:33

ner ner ner ner ner

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:34

What a load of bollocks. You are a total loon. YABU

GibbonInARibbon · 03/12/2009 16:38

We all feel like this at times

Thing is, I often read a post from someone and find it v funny or interesting but don't post saying that I do.

I tell myself that everyone recognises my rapier wit and effortless charm but don't feel comfortable gushing

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:39

It happens in RL too. Very annoying!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 16:39

Sorry, who are you?

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:40

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 16:42

I post childish subjects too. Tug away!

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 16:44

it is also a fact of MN so you will need to get used to it. Gah.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 16:45

I find the layout of threads quite overwhelming - lots of posts on one page. It's easy to get lost in a mumsnet thread.
