AIBU to be annoyed when I make a really good point on a thread

and then it's ignored, and either I have to repeat it, or then someone else comes and makes exactly the same point and everyone goes "oh yes, that's quite clever" "what a good and inciteful point" and so on. Maybe I should just type in caps?
So, AIBU?

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 12:36

Paggy!

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 12:37

How was Pagboy's concert?

pagwatch · 03/12/2009 12:37

Hully!!!!

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 12:47

What. Evah

Gawd, this is light relief from the wanker banker thread where I seem to have got myself all heated.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 12:54

Where's that? I like a bit of heat about the threads.

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 12:57

here

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 13:00

hully make sure you do not nick my points and make them your own, and then tethersend or pag come along and agree with you and ignore me. That would just send me into a tailspin of existentialist angst.

tethersend · 03/12/2009 13:02
Hullygully · 03/12/2009 13:04

I'm very interested in the lavishing that's mentioned.

ThumbleBells · 03/12/2009 13:06

YANBU because it is annoying, but it is also a fact of MN so you will need to get used to it. It is nice to be namechecked for making a wondrously insightful and helpful post, but for every one I have been thanked for, there have been about 3 that I have been ignored over. (Cos all my posts are wondrously insightful and helpful, of course )

pagwatch · 03/12/2009 13:10

oh Hully, Pagboys concert was lovely!

We were right at the back but when he filed in DH and I stood up and yelled until we knew he had seen us( we have no embaressment level at all when it comes to Pagboy). He was then waving and mouthing things at us about singing 'and then go home'

The kids were fantastic. Some of the singing was just beautiful and they all did really well. I especially enjoyed one of Pagboys friends who read his prayer out beautifully and then, when people clapped, he did an arms in the air "he shoots, he scores" type celebration.

Pagboy wasn't really sure about the whole thing, it was deeply challenging for him, but he worked really hard and held it together. He also looked very very handsome.

Yes. I cried a little
[soft shite]

Thanks for asking....

Sorry for hijack
I realise I am ignoring most other posters and proving the op entirely right

[wanker]

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 13:12

[Oh god I'm nearly in tears myself now]

pagwatch · 03/12/2009 13:13

[soft shite]

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 13:15

Aaaaaw pag No blardy idea what you are going on about but it sounds lovely.

Yes you are very rude

(am I rude for commenting on your hijack ? - no idea of the etiquette)

LadyOfTheFlowers · 03/12/2009 13:16

In response to OP - it happens to me all the time.

On the rare occaision I say something useful no-one notices, the next poster copies and pasted my post and everyone says 'Yes - what she just said!' and I'm thinking 'Noooooooooo!!'

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 13:18

Never heard of you LadyofTheFloweres. Are you a DM journalist ?

pagwatch · 03/12/2009 13:27

Jamie - people often have no clue what I am on about. It all makes sense in my head.

I think it is correct to loudly at hi-jacks, a bit like dealing with someone pushing in a queue. You can roll your eyes for emphasis if it is especially rude.

and [rolls eyes]

Jamieandhismagictorch · 03/12/2009 13:31

pag just had a nose at your profile page. What handsome boys you've got, and a be-yewtiful daughter.

I've got a Charlie too

pagwatch · 03/12/2009 13:45

He is especially gorgeous. My mum always comments on the fact that he has very severe SN and yet is gorgeous and says "isn't it a shame" - as if it would be fine if he were ugly.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 15:51

I just had a look too. She can have the kid, give me the house. Now.

bibbitybobbityhat · 03/12/2009 15:53

See? my point is proven.

Can't you get a room you muddyfunsting cleeeeeeeekkkkkkkk.

Hullygully · 03/12/2009 15:55

Eh? Did you have a point, Bibbity? I believe you must have mislaid it.

PotPourri · 03/12/2009 15:56

It happens in RL too. Very annoying!
