AIBU to be annoyed when I make a really good point on a thread

and then it's ignored, and either I have to repeat it, or then someone else comes and makes exactly the same point and everyone goes "oh yes, that's quite clever" "what a good and inciteful point" and so on. Maybe I should just type in caps?
So, AIBU?

Shall avoid those then. Enjoy the carol service Pagwatch!

hocuspontas · 02/12/2009 18:09

Me too!

I do sometimes think (to make myself feel better) that everyone is so astounded at how profound my comments are, they just don't know how to respond. [deluded emoticon]

bibbitybobbityhat · 02/12/2009 18:23

Ha ha ha! I usually find that by the time I have composed my searingly insightful reply, in a witty and entertaining way, having spell checked and namechecked the people I ought to acknowledge, and re-read cos I hate being caught out by the grammer police (sic) and finally pressed post - by that time the thread has moved off on an obscure tangent and now comprises a select group of 4 or 5 posters making arrangements for their next meetup together .

pofacedandproud · 02/12/2009 18:26

I ALWAYS mention you in those threads Pag.

AmericanHag · 03/12/2009 00:11

YABVU, and a bit of a drama queen.

If you want your posts to be the center of attention, start blogging and be the "star" there. It won't happen here, or on most boards.

Please don't type in all caps. It's the equivalent of a child screaming to get noticed.

differentID · 03/12/2009 00:15

Happens to me all the time. I just shrug it off. It's all you can do without looking a bit babyish really.

MadamDeathstare...actually, yes. Some of the responses were joking, but it seemed like the OP was quite serious.

But then, maybe I've been in AIBU too long and should go back to the main board.

YANBU. It may happen to everyone but several wrongs don't make a right ;)

SerenityNowAKABleh · 03/12/2009 09:25

AmericanHag, rest assured, I was joking. And, it may have been quite dim to post in AIBU, but it is where all the fun is. If I'd posted in Chat it would have been all "oh shame, that's sad, have a " whereas in AIBU, it gets all fiery

YANBU.

I often want to post "Is there an echo in here?" after someone has taken my carefully constructed blindingly accurate insight and summed it up in about two lines and an emoticon- and then has MN glory poured upon them for their wit and empathy.

And then I realise the world doesn't revolve around me.

Yet.

tethersend

Please see my post of Wed 02-Dec-09 17:44:20, where I think you'll find I already covered your point .

tethersend · 03/12/2009 12:17

I think it's all gone a bit post-modern.

You think you have trouble Serenity, this happens to me in real life.

I often don't namecheck that good suggestions because I'm quite rude and too lazy to read up a long thread to get the names of. I just say something general like "Thanks to those who suggested X".

I suspect that what is happening to you is that the OP is aware that someone has made a particular suggestion and they read backwards to get the name so the most recent posting is the first one they get to.
