and then it's ignored, and either I have to repeat it, or then someone else comes and makes exactly the same point and everyone goes "oh yes, that's quite clever" "what a good and inciteful point" and so on. Maybe I should just type in caps?
So, AIBU?

well, I suppose it is a bit hot in here

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 15:52

Is there no one for whom you carry a torch, MsMary

Ah, here comes dear Gibbon with the Ambassador, how happy and flushed they look and she carries an alarmingly large corsage of elder branches - I do believe they have reached an understanding! At last we may have some nuptials that actually take place!

EdgarAllenSnow · 09/01/2010 15:55

deep bow<

pleased to make your aquaintance, madame,

your reputation preceeds you!

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 15:55

laughing too much! sadly MrsW in your RL occupation, I think you will find we are all sadly derivative..

And here is Padre Brun accompanied by his sex starved chaste young acolytes! Perchance he may marry Gibbon and the Ambassador?

EdgarAllenSnow · 09/01/2010 15:56

you must visit me at my lodgings at The Rue Morgue...

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:00

Ah, and will M. Auguste Dupin be there to welcome us? - I yearn to inspect his forensic equipment!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:01

Dear Mr Snow, you seem of such a melancholy disposition, as if unspeakable terrors visit you unsummoned. Has it always been thus? My previous affianced was also a most moody and afflicted man, I am entirely used to the temperament, indeed I find I am oft strangely drawn to it. Are you, perchance, unwed?

Gibbon has slipped out to fetch more branches, we must await her return and then I feel sure we could have an actual wedding, here, in between quadrilles (and as she has been here all along we must take care not to finish without her).

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:03

Are we aiming to wind the narrative up by 1,00 posts?

What about poor Mimi!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:06

Does Mimi wish also to be wed? I thought she was far too fond of machinations and lightly-clads too enter the chains of matrimony.

Are we to continue beyond 1000? I shall have to resign myself to never working again...

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:09

I need to marry money! This splendour is all financed by sub-prime mortgages and South Sea Bubbles!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:12

I see. Pray excuse me momentarily Mr Snow. But why didn't you say? Perhaps you should have the buccaneering duke pirate captain for yourself, is he successful in his seagoing arts? Mr Snow will do for me, I like a man with horror in his marrow.

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:16

Tragiquement I get seasick!

But la, I see Dr Freud approaches! hmm!

Heqet · 09/01/2010 16:20

hi folks! Can I join in? Am being largely ignored on many threads

oh, and in other news - have been forced to stop smoking due to being unable to get out alone and sneak a fag! Still counts as quitting imo

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:22

assume your character, Hequet...but you have only a few posts left in which to impress our gathered guests and snare a man!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:24
MsMaryWollstonecraft · 09/01/2010 16:24

...or of course you may choose to forswear that shallow world and gain your self respect, madam

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:26

It appears she has been forced to lay down her meerschaumer pipe for the time being...let us be magnanimous!

Welcome! Welcome! Do scrub those yellowing fingers with carbolic 'ere you venture near the canapes!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:26

How stern MsMary is! No wonder she remains unwed, she frightens her suitors away so!

Now, Mimi, I do not believe Dr Freud has any moneyu to speak of, merely theories, but I do believe I see the Archduke Ferdinand alighting from his barouche!

MsMaryWollstonecraft · 09/01/2010 16:27
MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:28

mais oui, madame Hully, but some hither to unforunseen percipience tells me he is a bad bet!

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:28

Mimi, I fear you will have to adopt the ways of your wily old mere and dispatch MsMary to the dispassionate blade. She is a troublesome wench and no mistake.

Ah, Archduke, how does Sarajevo?

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:30

But if you marry in haste you may get the money before he feels the assassin's touch, Mimi! You know how you canst not bear to be yoked too lengthily, remember the count?

I fear Mme Heget has been frightened away, perhaps she goes to seek Gibbon?

Hullygully · 09/01/2010 16:32

Padre Brun, how delightful! Please marry us at once. Stand here Mimi, with the Archduke and you Gibbon, here with the Ambassador, and I have Mr Snow. Now, are we ready?

MadameDefarge · 09/01/2010 16:33

Stick with M. Snow, I beg of you! Chere Mlle Hully!

Didier! what eez zeez you recount to me? You are not the base-born gypsy lad forester on the other bus we had all taken you for? You are in fac the Conte de Loadsamoney? And you love me? For myself?

Oh La! Enfin, a man worthy of my talents!

mama2LeahAndAisha · 09/01/2010 16:33

hmm
