to NOT want a SLANKET for christmas?!

DH has let it slip that my dad has bought me a SLANKET for christmas (check out lakeland catalogue....)

Now, Im not the ungrateful type - everyone who knows me will know that, but I cant help but feel its a bit of a rubbish present, especially from my dad who usually chooses so well!

Past presents from my dad have included Spa Day vouchers, DVDs and CDs I want and a digital camera, so I know he is capable.

I feel like a right bitch for being a little pissed off about it, but DH just keeps saying I will probably love it when we move to the Scottish Highlands after christmas..... but its a naff present isnt it?!

really Skegness? Defintiely getting one then - so do you feed through the armhole?

CMOTdibbler · 30/11/2009 15:38

I'd like one too, and it's a really thoughtfull gift if you are moving to the Highlands

AuntieMaggie · 30/11/2009 15:40

Oh I want one of these too - always get myself in a tangle with the blanket I have at the moment

Skegness · 30/11/2009 15:42

pmsl! I'd need a v long snakey boob for that. It's quite thick fleece so wouldn't roll back so that a breast could be proferred through the armhole. No- I just take it half off so we're half slanketted, half blanketted, I guess, iyswim.

I'm loving the idea of a nursing slanket - now't worse than having bits uncovered at 4am in December. I'm going to put a slanket on my wish list . Thank you MN for giving me the courage

FimbleHobbs · 30/11/2009 15:45

I don't want one either! (Just in case DH is reading this)

MmeLindt · 30/11/2009 15:46

Oh, dear.

I would love one and the only thing stopping me is the certainty that DH would fall off the couch laughing.

You are an ungrateful mare. Send it to me.

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2009 15:46

me too
your long snake boob is going to have me laughing at the middle of the night feed - i blame you for waking dd

mrsboogiefairylights · 30/11/2009 15:46

27 not 47?

what, is 47 like, really ancient or something

StealthPolarBear · 30/11/2009 15:47

sorry got skegness & sassybeast mixed up!

QueenofDreams · 30/11/2009 15:52

I have to say, I looked at the link and thought 'I want one' (I'm only 27 as well)
It looks so cosy. Plus I could do Yoda impressions. Fab
DP isn't getting me a birthday present this year (again ) maybe I'll suggest this...

meltedchocolate · 30/11/2009 15:53

snug blanket? If you are moving to the scottish highlands you will love that prezzie in the winter!

LittleOneMum · 30/11/2009 15:54

OP, I'm with you. I think that although it looks cosy, if I really wanted one, I'd get one myself. I'd rather my presents from other people were a bit more glam (which can help me with the illusion that I appear really glam to the outside world!). xx

meltedchocolate · 30/11/2009 15:57

and yes mrsboogie 47 is ANCIENT! Didn't you know??!!

GentleOtter · 30/11/2009 16:24
Squishabelle · 30/11/2009 16:31

Anyone thinking of buying one of these - the official Lakeland Slankets are, I think, £29.99. JML do exactly the same thing for £14.99.

Chickenshavenolips · 30/11/2009 16:31

I. Want. One.

DanJARMouse · 30/11/2009 16:32

ok ok ok

im an ungrateful bint!

I will probably learn to love it..... but i guess in my world, I just think a fleece blanket for 4.99 would do the same job LOL

I like the idea of thinking its a hug from my dad - moving 700 miles away from him is gonna be mega hard!

DanJARMouse · 30/11/2009 16:34

and appologies of the "47" remark - it just looks something my mum would wear (she's dead, and would be 53 now had she not died)

fingers crossed i do love it..... and he buys me the DS game I really want!!!

bibbitybobbityhat · 30/11/2009 16:34

SpawnChorus · 30/11/2009 16:47

piratecat · 30/11/2009 16:47

SerenityNowAKABleh · 30/11/2009 16:47
