It's a new CBeebies programme, which has a really nice 'green' focus, but animation styling that makes me go 'ewwwwwh'

Take a look here: www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/dirtgirlworld/ I suppose it's just one of those things that you either think looks great, or that weirds you out. I'm weirded out

creepy!!!! def weirded out by that.

yuck

CitizenPrecious · 05/11/2009 14:09

aaaaaaaargh!!

mind you I'm going to have to like a programme called dirtgirlworld, as it will make a pleasant change from pinkgirlworld- which I visit often, but not by choice [weary eye roll emoticon]

potatofactory · 05/11/2009 14:28

It is the stuff of NIGHTMARES.

Grendle · 05/11/2009 14:40

YANBU

She struck me as a bit simpering and drawn to look like she was wearing makeup . Yuk!!

Not sure it's as vile as Gigglebiz though .

pjmama · 05/11/2009 14:42

Freaks me out too!

cakeywakeywhizzbangmakey · 05/11/2009 14:43

It's even worse when you see it on the telly. I think it may well be someone's real eyes and mouth that are then being put into the animation [boak]

OP posts:
potatofactory · 05/11/2009 15:24

I definitely think it based on someone's real eyes and mouth - nightmares ahoy!

Snowtiger · 05/11/2009 15:29

Horrendous, I agree - saw it earlier this week and totally freaked me out.

Even worse, DS wasn't bothered by it at all.

Worse than that... DS LIKES Gigglebiz. Gaaaah!!

mankymummymoo · 05/11/2009 15:30

Their eyes are way too far apart in their faces... not good, unfortunately DS loves it and at times will only reply "hay" to anything I say to him, pretending to be that idiotic scarecrow.

BouncingTurtle · 05/11/2009 17:00

I was about to start a thread on this and I see someone has beaten me to it!

YANBU - I find the animations really repulsive, I hate the way they've put real eyes and mouths onto cartoon figures.

Bleugh!!!

Stupid song as well. It makes it sound like it is aimed more at teenagers than preschoolers!

Dlamis · 05/11/2009 17:11

Aagh this didn't look tooooooo bad on the link you posted but it's just been on cbeebies. It's horrible and ds1 has just uttered those dreaded phrase "Lets watch it again"

TootaLaFruit · 05/11/2009 17:14

What I can't stand is the way her eyes and mouth are constantly moving and twitching like nervous tics. I even find myself subconsciously copying her and it makes my face feel all horrible and twitchy. Yeugh.

displayuntilbestbefore · 05/11/2009 17:18

I've had to turn it off as my 2yr old started saying "I don't like this, I don't like this" and I looked to see whyat it was and I didn't like it either! older dcs liked it though, so I am in doghouse with them for turning it off because little one upset!

CaptainUnderpants · 05/11/2009 17:20

Sounds like a porn site !

Thankful we have moved on from Cbeebies in our house.

BoneYard · 05/11/2009 17:23

Me too Captain - but it reminds me a bit of the 'be seen' advert on CITV - that is very thought provoking. The little girl who noone sees....

WidowWadman · 05/11/2009 17:45

Not being familiar with CBeebies or any other children's TV, I assumed that the thread title referred to some porn site. "Dirtgirlworld" -Who on earth thought that sounds like it contains kid's content?

MeAndMyMonkey · 05/11/2009 17:50

What is wrong with Gigglebiz? DD and I have been chortling away... am I missing something?

cakeywakeywhizzbangmakey · 05/11/2009 19:27

The name of the show is a bit porn isn't it! I wonder what the focus groups who were shown the orignal concept for the whole horible freaky-faced look of it were thinking when they gave it the thumbs up. They should be spanked

Glad it wasn't just me who was freaked out! Luckily, DD is too weeny to have paid any attention to it - was just noise and coloured images to her.

Grendle · 05/11/2009 19:30

MeandMyMonkey -everything is wrong with Gigglebiz. It is not funny. It is weird. That man is very odd. Even my children do not find it remotely amusing. Yesterday he was squeezing a breast that went 'honk'. That is just weird in a prgramme supposedly aimed at small children. He's also constantly doing all sorts of 'hilarious' things I would not want my preschooler emulating, for example wittily painting his own clothes. And no, I don't like Benny Hill, Little Britain or Mr Bean particularly either.

I've not watched Gigglebiz, but like Justin in Something Special. I don't like the trailers so haven't watched it - may well no bother!

ginnny · 05/11/2009 19:34

Does anyone remember Angela Anaconda?.
It reminds me of that.
A bit freeky but ds1 used to love it!

teameric · 05/11/2009 19:39

I actually like gigglebiz agree dirtgirlworld is some freaky looking shit.
