to find Dirtgirlworld a bit disturbing?

It's a new CBeebies programme, which has a really nice 'green' focus, but animation styling that makes me go 'ewwwwwh'

Take a look here: www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/dirtgirlworld/ I suppose it's just one of those things that you either think looks great, or that weirds you out. I'm weirded out

This is the scariest looking programme on tv! I can't watch it as it gives me the heebie jeebies.

ThePhantomPlotter · 05/11/2009 19:44

I used to love Angela Anaconda, it's still on sometimes.

Hate dirtgirlworld though, it's her huge mouth and realistic tongue that scares me the most.

Ermm... also like Gigglebiz, especially the theme tune.

inveteratenamechanger · 05/11/2009 19:45

It is terrifying. I find the fact that they have animated a real person's tongue into her face particularly creepy.

DD started wailing when it came on. She is also terrified by the wrestlers in Gigglebiz -which I also think is deeply disturbing.

Grandhighpoohba · 05/11/2009 19:50

DS (14mo)screamed the house down at the scarecrow, we had to switch it off before we even got to the girl. She looks awful though, very freaky. Mind you, Ds is also terrified of the plastic spoon on numberjacks

gingernutlover · 05/11/2009 20:27

dirt girl is very very wierd looking

dd loves gigglebiz though - although she wont believe me when I tell her it's justin dressed up in different costumes. Mind you she doesnt even realsie that justin and mr tumble are the same

Meglet · 05/11/2009 21:06

Dirtgirl world is creepy. I'm going to make sure my dc's don't get too fond of it.

It actually makes green balloon club seem normal.

We like gigglebiz here, earlier this week ds was wandering round his room looking for panda's like Rapids Johnson .

MeAndMyMonkey · 05/11/2009 21:50

Grendle, thank you, but we can't help finding it funny - although did not see said giant honking tit, sounds a bit disturbing!
I vaguely distrust the Green Balloon Club and am spooked by the numberjacks and all Nina's horrid neurons. But then, I'm not 3 so prob not the target audience!

cakeywakeywhizzbangmakey · 05/11/2009 22:00

I can't work out how Nina gets her hair into that mad style. Like her Mini though.

Would rather sit through an afternoon of back-to-back Nina than watch one minute of Dirtgirlworld

Chaotica · 05/11/2009 22:14

I'm another one freaked out about the trailer of dirtgirlworld to avoid it completely.

Don't have much of a problem with gigglebiz though as the DCs love it.

(Know someone who works on Nina, so have to love it. While Numberjacks freaks me out (but I teach the philosophy of maths, so may not be target audience ) - DCs love that too though and it's getting DD into numbers so I shouldn't complain.)

Grendle · 05/11/2009 22:39

No problems here with Nina or Numberjacks . Not sure what the green balloon club have been eating/drinking tbh...

PixiNanny · 05/11/2009 23:47

I know that one! saw it briefly on TV last week at my Nans, my 6yo aunie enjoys it apparently but we didn't know the name. It's fooking freaky!

beaniesinjjsbreakfastagain · 05/11/2009 23:59

im so pleased im not alone, this program really creeps me out!

treacletart · 06/11/2009 00:11

Its the weird winky eye scrunchy nose spice girl pirate face thing I hate - plus the constant twitching and the way the worm and scarecrow have unanimated human faces and seemingly undubbed voices - A very strange mix. Almost as weird as the Lazytown human/puppet combination. On paper I ought to like Dirtgirl - we normally really go for the whole nature/growing vibe, but this is truly disturbing.

victoriascrumptious · 06/11/2009 10:53

I can't believe anyone could be critical of Justin!

Numberjacks annoys me, it's clearly designed for creepy genius children who become chess masters aged 4.

victoriascrumptious · 06/11/2009 10:55

ON another note Wayballoo. What the point? That yoga section is silly-even if you were that way inclined you can't work out what yoga posed the bunny things are actually doing.

ln1981 · 06/11/2009 12:54

have only seen dirtgirlworld once but it freaked me-its defo the animation that makes it a tad weird. and waybuloo is dd's favourite, she evens jions in with the yoga. it is indeed a sight to behold... i find that slightly weird but no where near as annoying as the teletubbies or in the night garden.

Motsa · 06/11/2009 21:03

Thank you for posting this. Is the programme co-ordinator of CBeebies on something? What on earth is the new Jess thing too?

It has really gone downhill recently and sold-out to programmes usually seen on commercial channels.

Dirtgirlworld is so scary and my two year old screams when she sees the trailer, but not as much as when she sees the professor on Gigglebiz. I have opted to turn the TV off more, which with rubbish like this on offer is a welcome relief.

Besom · 06/11/2009 21:13

My dd (18mo) seems quite taken by it. Saying 'more. again' when it finished.

So, who am I to judge?

Disenchanted3 · 06/11/2009 21:15

'scrap boy' looks like micheal jackson doesnt he??

wuglet · 06/11/2009 21:19

I hate it

Not overly keen on gigglebiz but the DC love it - DS (18mo) sings "na na na na" when he sees it and DD (3) is now constantly telling shit jokes.

dreamteamgirl · 06/11/2009 21:23

YANBU
Its horrid!!

ConnieComplaint · 06/11/2009 21:29

When does dirtgirlworld be on?

I have never seen it, which seems odd. Is it on Cbeebies?

Ds (5) loves Gigglebiz & the numberjacks & chuggington....

dreamteamgirl · 06/11/2009 21:32

Ceebeebies about 4.45pm on Friday
Or it was today anyway

cakeywakey · 07/11/2009 09:18

cakeywakey · 07/11/2009 09:41
