It's a new CBeebies programme, which has a really nice 'green' focus, but animation styling that makes me go 'ewwwwwh'

Take a look here: www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/dirtgirlworld/ I suppose it's just one of those things that you either think looks great, or that weirds you out. I'm weirded out

I have to admit that I did try it again the other day to check if I was BU. As before, I do like the message and the non pinky girliness, I just find the animation style very off-putting

Especially now that I've also realised that the bodies are real and the animated heads added on. I am still weirded out and will remain so

Dirtworldgirl got far too excited by the throbbing tractor she was on this morning!

As for Gigglebiz - another house where Justin is god.

DD has eyes for very little other than Peppa Pig (Gigglebiz, Something Special, and Charlie and Lola being exceptions). DS on the other hand who at nearly 6 is probably outgrowing CBeebies LOVES Numberjacks, Nina, and Green Balloon Club.

oh i have wanted to start this thred but did not dare - i agree it is dire - it just makes me feel eeewwwwwwwww and that two ended worm thng my dh is convinced is connie beauchamp from holby city ! Its the massive size of her head inproportion to her body with the real eyes and teeth that completely freak me!

scooterdooter · 19/12/2009 19:54

Such a dreadful programme, my three year old DS asks for it to be turned off as soon as it comes on the screen.

MadameOvary · 19/12/2009 20:08

Don't get me started on Ken the Weevill - he's the creepiest of the lot.
DD likes it tho, anything that grabs her attention for ten minutes is fine by me!

Ok i see why you all hate it,but I do kind of see the underlying messages about the environment being conveyed in Dirtgirl, its just the animation that is a little off putting. It wasn't that long ago there was a boycott of the ninja turtles because of the violence and it got no where and now we have far more violent cartoons like dragon ball z.
I personally think that Dirtgirl is an odd show but that's because that type of animation hasn't been done before and it may appear bad to anyone who already has porn on there mind(no offence)... if you want to see something very questionable look at Bratz dolls, they originally had G-strings and Katy Perrys recent performance on Sesame Street, now that is worthy of a thread... Dirtgirl is relatively harmless by comparison.

i think dirtgirlworld is awful.the first time i saw it i coulnt believe it wasnt a pilot and was actually an ongoing programme.and our licence fee has paid for it!its creepy.its patronising.its just down right awful and it looks like someone was given really short notice to do a new kids show with the token green theme. they panicked and dirtgirlworld is the resultConfused

cherrymar · 16/07/2012 07:53

i know this thread is nearly 2 years old, but came across it when looking for a download of 'party in the henhouse' on dirtgirlworld. fascinating animation, good to see something different. hope all you mums with littlies screaming at what comes on kids tv have learned to turn it off! there are other things for little kids to do - guess what? kids watching tv is OPTIONAL! take them outside and let them play in the dirt

tethersend · 16/07/2012 08:20

Cherry, the 'mums of littlies' can't hear you. They're in 2009. Watching telly.
