We have a lovely DS but he is very hard work.

This pregnancy has been so so so different and DH had his heart set on a girl........we are having another boy.

We are so lucky to be having a healthy baby and I am sure DH will get over it. The thing is everyone keeps saying "oh I bet you would love a girl, oh it must be you have been so ill, your so much rounder this time" etc etc etc.

I do feel a bit sad, I keep thinking about ballet classes and doing hair for school etc and a little like I'm missing out

Its terrible to feel like this I know I am BU.

Log off Sally, log off!

Plonker · 29/09/2009 21:24

Ignore her sally - she's full of shit

Lizzylou · 29/09/2009 21:25

Sally, am so sorry.
I saw your name thread and love your planned name.
I have two boys and I adore them, they are fab. You will adore your boy gang. Truly.
I understand why you felt initial disappointment, I always wanted a "Topsy and Tim" one of each family. But couldn't be happier with my children.
Sorry that this has descended into a wierd fighty thread

Ah thats really sweet of you lockets! I have been looking at some really lovely boys things today. They were by a company called Me Too and guess what!? They were really bright, funky and cheerful! Nice not to see boys clothes with dull colours or odd slogens for once! They were a bit pricy but why not!

everyone should just ignore jude now, she's had her moment, if she has anything sensible to say, acknowledge her then

Thank-you Lizzylou! Someone suggested naming baby now would really make a difference, a really helpful suggestion as I am already talking about "our boys" (!!)

Oooo that makes me feel very grown up!

The first time I said to DH "Best get the boys sorted", we both looked at each and laughed, felt v wierd.

My boys look lovely in bright royal blue and red. I love them in bright colours. YOu can get lovely bright coloured vests and babygros (ooh,I love babies in all in one vests and babygros, all munchy and comfy)

You name choice is fab, my DS1 is called something v similar (more popular, thankfully not in these parts) and when I was told my nephews name I was that I'd not nabbed it first!

Squiglet · 29/09/2009 21:40

Sally glad you are feeling happier. Fwiw boy my ds's love/d pink. My big boy (9) is anti pink now but baby bro has pink toenails (drs orders, honest! - well nailpolish is). He also loves wearing my jewellery and pushed his 'baby' monkey to school in a toy pushchair today.

Absolutely adore my boys and couldnt imagine any 2 more wonderful children. I bet you'll feel the same about yours too. x

TheCrackFox · 29/09/2009 21:42

It just sounds so nice saying "my boys" (I would imagine saying "my girls" is lovely too ) you never fall into the trap of shouting "kids".

H and M have some adorable baby boy clothes in at the moment.

Sally i always wanted more girls and have got lots of boys

once at swimming i said 'the boys' to a woman with 3 girls and she said to me ' ooh you made me all shuddery then. That sounds so sweet!' I have never forgotten it

I have been obsessed at different times with having girls

i have 5 boys 17 12 6 3 1

a few times every week i am so grateful for my lot that i will say it out loud...
not what i ordered by any stretch but i honestly could not be happier

furcoatnaenickers · 29/09/2009 21:50

YABU Sally. Glad to see you've got a grip now.

sally78 · 29/09/2009 21:55

lockets!! Just look at your LOs!!! They are sooooooooooooooooo beautiful! How can I stop at 2 after seeing your profile!

OP posts:
Lizzylou · 29/09/2009 21:55

NOA, you have a 5 a side football team!

Respect.

I'd have felt the same about having two girls as having two boys, I always wanted one of each. DH and I grew up in that sort of family and thought that was what we'd have, we haven't. It is lovely though.

I always remember my MIL saying to me after I had DS1, "Oh I am so glad he's a boy. I much prefer little boys". She has a fab relationship with SIL they are v close, she just prefers boy babies/boys in general.
