and "playbite" my arms?!!! I was on a rural path...fair enough, but I think people should control their dogs...I got muddy footprints all over me. It is also kind of scary if you don't know the dogs. There were two women with 3 dogs, not even an apology. Even when I said angrily, "please can you get your dogs off me". That's just not on - is it?

I wouldn't like it. People seem to think that strangers should love their animals as much as they do, but I'm not really an animal person.
I wouldn't ever harm them, it's just that I have no desire to have them jump up at me and (yuk) lick and dribble.

I agree with Kerry. I would have shoved them the hell out of it.

Probably would have been met with a barrage of assault from the owner about you kicking her precious dogs, but still.

I was thinking of bringing a stick next time to wack them with. I actually lost it with the women said "this is unbelievable, I am so SICK of people like you!" now will find out they are on the board of the school, tiny village. Great.

I don't let my kids run riot, so you think someone could control their goddam animals. How hard can it be - or at least to apologise. Also if I had been there with my kids the play bites would not have been inthe least bit ok, they would have knocked them over.

Or a taser gun could work, where can I get one?

LOL at taser gun. It's not on for owners not to restrain their pets. I love dogs but am wary of ones I don't know so would feel as you do.

I carry a Leki walking stick whenever I go out with me for such purposes.

I don't like dogs and especially not ill-behaved ones.

Any ones who jump all over me because of their irresponsible owner are going to get the stick.

And it wouldn't bother me a jot if they're on the board of God's Entry to Heaven,tbh.

the owners just mumbled something about "must have a treat somewhere to give them" in order to get them off me! Nice looking women, not mad or incapable...seemed to go very blank when I shouted at them, no apologies at all.

What sort of dogs? I personally think all pitbulls (which are illegal anyway), rottweilers and dobermans should all be shot with taser guns. And I am shocked that the owner did not apologise. You could taser gun her too.

I think if you pull a dogs front legs apart really fast and as far as you can they have a heart attack!!!

I am a dog lover and have 2, but i would not have liked this and i hate to say it they probably would have got a short sharp shove from me.

My dogs are under close control as i believe it is my responsability to make sure they stay like that and i never expected everyone else to love them as much as i do. I have a phobia of an animal and i know i would not knowlingy be within a 20 mile radius of that creature!

Personally i would report them as the owners are indeed in breach of the dangerous dogs act, failing that i would tasar the owners and possibly the dogs. (although it is entirely the owners fault, not the dogs).

Its not the bloody dogs its the owners who are at fault and need kicking up the ass! Whats more I'd recommend you did so and would be right behind you.

I have 2 large breed dogs and whilst I wouldn't give a monkeys about anyone else's dog lolloping over to me for a friendly lick and to cover me in mud I do appreciate that most people would.

The owners in question are completely bad mannered and are putting their dogs at risk, not only from the sick suggestions on here but what if the dogs acted in this way to someones precious DC? One scratch and a parent could so easily be screaming the terms of the Dangerous Dogs Act.

To take it out on the dogs is like me kicking seven bails out of a 5 year old who has thrown a rock at my car while his mother looked on -its the mother who should be answerable. These owners are a disgrace and do responsible dog-owners no favours at all.

I used to deliver leaflets and one summer a front door was open when I dropped a leaflet on the mat a dog came out and started barking and chased me out.

The owner just called the dog back, but the stupid dog still came out. I was so pissed off, he could have bitten me.

While I really wouldn't appreciate being slobbered on by dogs, I do rather think that if you take a job which involves going door to door, you really ought to be prepared for the possibility of dogs being around.

The dogs weren't attacking you, but i agree no one wants dogs jumping all over them and they should know how to control them or they shouldnt be off lead, but seriously i wouldnt whack them cause if you did that to my dog i wouldnt think twice, also be following you home and reporting you for attacking my dog.

Although I would be very ashamed and apologetic if either of my 2 acted like this I'd know that only I was to blame and would stop at nothing to defend my dogs from a physical attack under the above circumstances.

In another thread here recently the OP got some strict words when she spoke of having told off a young child for bumping into her without apologising. The concensus of opinion was that this was only a child doing what children sometimes do and that it was unacceptable to have a go at the girl although Mum should probably have handled the situation better. I feel the same applies here - it is wrong and cruel to attack the dogs and that it is the owners who deserve the rollocking.

I got the verbals the other day, rottweiller puppy thing launched at my ds and my neighbour's dc who we were taking to school, the dog came from nowhere, owner miles away from it, leaping up at them and jumping around. I shouted to the woman owner to get the thing on a lead, she eventually panted up, struggled to get it on the lead and then shouted and bawled at me "it is your fault for bringing your kids up to be scared of dogs".

oh yes valhala i agree i would be so ashamed and would also say sorry i dont understand how these women didnt, but i wouldnt put up with someone doing that shit to my dog, it would be my fault not the dogs.

is that the thread about the poor little child that bumped into her and she followed her outside.

and she would whack a dog.
