To think Johny Boden is ripping us all off?

I love Boden children's clothes but is it really worth what we pay for it?

Johny must be making a fortune out of us

And the quality is not that great either.

Sorry just having a moan because i can't afford all the nice things i would like to buy

I can't agree about the quality I'm afraid, but I am now too damn poor to afford the clothes.... well we could skip food at the weekend.

YANBU. When's everyone else on here going to notice? I really don't get this site's obsession with Boden, it ain't all that and a bag of organic chips.

I think Boden clothes are hideous.
Like those expensive bags that "celebs" have.
Someone seems to have said that Boden are "must have", and people are buying them on the strength of that, it seems to me.

I'm not a fan of the adults clothes tbh, but the kids stuff is nice.

I disagree about the quality too, I've always thought it good.

My Dh boaks at the price as well. I tend to buy the bits I want in sales, or with offers.

I find the trouses good quality but not a great fit on my dd's, the tops seem to go out of shape in the wash (maybe its just me).

I bought dd1 a pair of bright cords and she loves them but theres no way i could fill her wardrobe with this shit lovely clothes

Why spend 30.00 on a pair of trousers which are going to get grass stained and ruined.

I only buy on their sale but have found their quality to be really excellent. I also love the customer service. I've never known a company with such helpful staff on the phone line. That said I tend to get the plainer stuff (for adults) as I really dislike the garish patterned stuff that could not have come from anywhere else.

I like it when people give me their dc's outgrown boden clothes. I have found them to be (still) excellent quality and they keep on washing.

Having said that - I wouldn't buy it myself and I don't think it's all that much better than M&S.

I think parents in my area just dress there kids in Boden Spots as a status symbol.

I don't mind buying dd1 the odd thing from there if she's going to wear it a lot but dd2 is so messy i could not spend that much on one item for her to ruin it.

So dd1 wears Boden and Dd2 wears George and Cherokke .

I don't think that either the kids' clothes or the adults' clothes are particuarly nice.

I must admit that I do buy my kids some clothes from Boden with a fair whack of supermarket clothing thrown in. I like the Boden quality (they wash well) and it is great to have a choice of colour besides pink with HSM or Peppa Pig ...

But the clothes are very pricey and with all the discounts and offers they have, I suspect that the loyal Boden customers are being ripped off ...

I agree, have a few boden dresses for me but have never bought anything full price. Most of my kids close come from Sainsburys! Feel similarly about JoJomaman bebe too. Stuff lovely but £22 for a piar of dungarees???!!

I like buying boden for the DCs but not for myself. You have to be tall and without boobs to wear their clothes I think!

It is the only place I have found good quality boys clothes (without logos, skulls etc!) and my DS has had 3 yrs wear out of some of his boden shorts..starts off wearing them 3/4 length and 2 yrs later still wears them just above the knee. I like the plain and /or stripey tops.

Have bought some lovely things for DD ...some of the girls stuff does look obviously boden but is still very pretty (love the long sleeve t-shirt dresses with floral skirts). It is the kind of stuff Laura Ashley should be selling but don't for some reason.

I would not buy it as a status symbol. Buy the clothes I genuinely like and because on the whole they wear better than supermarket clothes. I tend only to buy sale items - the prices of the new clothes are too expensive to justify.

Ps. it always sells well on Ebay so if you buy Boden in the sale then sell on on Ebay it doesn't cost so much as you can recoup part of the cost selling the clothes on. Whereas if I ever buy tescos stuff it is only fit for recycling after my DCs have worn it.

I think the quality of Boden children's clothes is far superior to that of most other high street shops. I find it washes and washes without fading, fits well and is always in great condition to be passed on to other children. I also think a lot of their designs are fab: colours other than pink for girls; non twee pictures; colours other than sludge for boys; no "monsters" or "I'm naughty" slogans. What's not to like?

My children aren't exclusively dressed in Boden but I don't think it's necessarily that pricey either- I just think clothing from some retailers has become some cheap it's practically disposable and it makes Boden appear to be more expensive. Clothes from most shops cost less now than they did 15/20 years ago- it's madness. I'd rather my children had fewer good quality items than heaps of cheap ones. Having said all that, I'm assuming Johnnie isn't exploiting child labour in the third world.

I really like boden for my DDs. I find it quite hard to find clothes for DD1 (10) that are not too grown up or too babyish! Boden hits the mark. It is expensive so I tend stock up with discounts or in the sale. But with 2 DDs it is well worn and looks as good on DD2 as it did on DD1.

Both my DDs are tall and long so the fit is good although the tops tend to be a little short in the arm.

I hate most things from next and find their quality rubbish, Boden is more expensive but worth it. I usually buy Monsoon, mini Boden and Gap and perhaps the odd bit from H&M.

I have a few items from the adult collection but am not that keen on it.

I absolutely agree with Fayrazzled's point about cheap, disposable clothing!

It is hideously overpriced. The adult stuff is appalling quality. I find the kids' stuff ok but will only by in the sale.

Yes JB is taken the piss, but as long as there are people prepared to give him their money then he'll carry on taking the piss.

Some Boden stuff is nice. A lot is utterly hideous. I think it is all overpriced and thus the only time I buy is when it's sale time.

I'm rather pissed off that my recent return stuff has been refunded as a credit on my account rather than to my credit card because I sent sale stuff back after 7 days.

YANBU. I definitely agree about the quality, I found their stuff faded very badly after a few washes. Also my DCs used to point blank refuse to wear it (they were only pre-schoolers at the time as well) so after that I stuck to supermarket or H&M stuff with a bit of M&S and Next thrown in.

Agree - buy in the sale - few bits and pieces I have wash and wear well.Don't mind price if stuff lasts - also buy t-shirts from KSBKids as they do 100% cotton plain and striped Ts that are thick cotton, in lots of colours and last.

Was just thinking this morning, as I was packing my DS trousers that the quality seems to be much poorer than usually. Faded terribly.

Have only brought in the sale before and because I have three ds's everything can be passed down. Don't think I will get much from them again as I dont think the clothes will last for the three boys

But where else can you buy nice clothes for boys?
