YANBU, some of it's ok, not my style exactly, but I think it's good to have the choice, and I wouldn't want to see them disappear, but they are ridiculously expensive.

Does anybody really pay £80 for a dodgy tunic which you will see on a handful of other women ast some point.

I think almost all of their stuff washes well. The only things that don't (and I've been caught out twice) are the cotton jumpers like this:

They look saggy and scruffy really quickly even when you follow the washing instructions super carefully.

If your supermarket clothes fall apart, then you're washing at too high a temperature. Turn your machine temperature down to 30 and the clothes won't fall apart. My children live in Dunnes & Tesco stuff and it has all survived countless washes.

I think people like to believe that supermarket clothes fall apart if they feel secretly guilty about spending 3 times as much on a Boden coat as they do on a Tesco coat.

I wont pay the prices myself, and as there is an abundance of Bodenites in our school playground I like to see DD in something different.

I do love Boden kids clothes, the adult ones can be very old fashioned and Twee, however they are not worth the money. I wanted a pair of sailor type trousers and shock horror £56, i found some nice ones in Topshop for £30. Just too overpriced IMO.

Yes i agree, some of the Primark and Asda cothes that i bought have survived many many washes and wears, are you washing them at too high temperature and putting them in the dryer at a high temp for them to fall apart! I went to the Debenhams sale and got the most cutest clothes for dd, hardwearing and beautiful. i would personally rather see what i am buying.

I think YAB a bit U because in all the times I've bought stuff from Boden I have never once paid the price on the website or a delvery charge. That spend £30, save £10 code is brilliant and there is no cap on the number of times you are allowed to use it so I saved loads.

Boden stuff also sells very well on ebay. I sold a (used) dress top on there which actually went for more than I paid for it and dd2's winter coat which she has worn for the last 2 years and is now out of sold for £21 and I think I only paid about £6 more for that, new. I couldn't believe it actually as I stated it was well worn!

Used to buy DS1 Boden things when he was younger (until he was about 7yrs) and generally found the quality to be good. I liked the lack of logos and range of colours. Now that he's older - nearly 10 - I think the clothes are a bit babyish and overstyled and they are expensive.

Joules is a recent discovery and DS1 has a good sweatshirt from them. It's excellent quality and was a fair price in the sale. He gets cargo style and cotton trousers from Next, Jeans from Gap and tee's get picked up in all sorts of places.

I wouldn't buy babywear from Boden. I really dislike the whole dressing babies as little adults look. My DS2 (8 months)lives in babygrows and soft brushed cotton things.

I'm a bit Bodened-out tbh. Everyone round here wears it and I think it is a bit of a status symbol. I really don't like the lifestyle and values which are promoted in the endless catalogues Johnny sends us either.

I personally prefer La Redoute, beautiful kids cothes at reasonable prices. Think that Boden is very overrated and overpriced. Just looked at their 'sale' on the website £40 for a 'fun' dress (adult) what a rip looked garish and horrid imo

I think that if you were to go on the highstreet you would find similar quality and better. Its just a status symbol and the whole mumsy home counties ethos that people are buying into.

I have some things from Boden for my boys, main sweatshirts as they a lot of wear and washing and stay in shape and are great quality.

Recently DH was folding washing and commented on how much better quality these particular tops are over anything else they have.

I don't agree that the Boden baby clothes are in the style of 'little adults' at all.

I do agree that Joules can be quite nice, one of my dds has always suited their clothes very well. They usually have nice tweed jackets too.

Really dislike places like Primark, all that disposable fashion ethos.

Some of their things are great - love the half zip fleeces, the brushed cotton tartan trousers and the t-shirts are cool but very Boden (I live in a Boden area and you see lots of duplicates). I also like the knitted and velour dresses for girls. I do think some of it is massively over-priced though - I'd never buy jeans from there for example.

I don't buy into the 'Boden' dream - I can't afford it and it wouldn't suit me anyway. I do defy mn to find me a pair of childs velour pants that don't look 'tarty' on a 5 yo, don't have an embellishment, don't have 'honey' written across the arse, don't seem affected by any sort of abuse, do switch from p.j's to party clothes with a change in top, and do seem to span 3 growth spurts and 4 seasons. They are a miracle those pants.
Our GAP & M&S ones look rubbish, but the Boden are a year older and still near perfect.

Be good if mn could find some though, and cheaper if possible

Actually I only like the children's stuff - I find the adult's clothes a bit dull and very expensive.
