I've namechanged for this, and won't name any of the MNetters that I'm referring to (so please don't either!). BUT, do you ever find the same MNetters on threads you are commenting on - and they always disagree with what you think??

This seems to happen to me alot and I find myself really disliking them, which is ridiculous. Sat here on my computer, they aren't even real people, just paragraphs of text on the screen so how can I dislike them so much??!

Am I the only one that gets this? Or are there more of you out there that are just as irrational as me?

What's worse (or weirder at least), is when you think you hate someone (that is, you've had a run-in with them, or just read lots of objectionable posts by them), and whenever you see them on a thread you get all huffy and , but then - all of a sudden - they agree with you say something sensible and wise, and you are forced to revise your opinion. Actually, it's one of the things I really like about MN, in that - in RL - it's quite hard to "forget" things someone has said, or ideas you associate with them; but here, you do forget who said what and when and why, etc., so unless you work quite hard at it, it is hard to hold grudges. It's helped me grow as a person, doncha know.

Penthe - I feel personally let down when the reverse happens - when you've been reading someone's posts and nodding and wishing you had that turn of phrase, and then they go and make an absolute tit of themselves and you for them.
