To think this is the worse film I have EVER seen?

I think I am still in mild shock.

Had a bit of time to kill yesterday afternoon so thought I'd watch a bit of telly. Blues Brothers 2000 was on. Loved the original and whilst I didnt think this would match it, it did have an impressive cast so thought I would give it a go.

Have you SEEN it It was so bad it sort of mesmerised me. It was like it was started without a script or plot line and they sort of chucked things at it as they went along.

At one point a voodoo queen turned them all into green zombies so they would play crappy pop/jazz fusion. There were also animated skeleton cowboys riding on skeleton cows, a car driving under water for at least a mile (not a special car, just a car), a black policeman levatating through the roof of a revival meeting and turning into the 3rd blues brother on his way down, a car pile up that went on for about 5 minutes long after anyone driving behind the first few cars would have realised something was up and Russian gangsters who turned into rats.

Twas mad. How the hell did they get James Brown and Eric Clapton involved in that?

John Goodman was in it. I am wondering if he produced it. I think he has a history of these vanity projects.

Anyone got it on DVD? I think I need to see it one more time.

So am I right or is there a worse film?

Greensleeves I had a friend who actually nearly paid a LOT of money on ebay for a copy of How To Get Ahead in Advertising so I thought it must be fantastic. It ended up being given away free on some sunday paper when he was looking for it and I eagerly sat down to watch it. It was RUBBISH!!

I actually like some of these films people are saying are rubbish, I liked 8 Mile, Notting Hill and especially Dogma.

For me some of the worst films have seen would be Moulin Rouge, The Beach (I loved the book), Donnie Darko and generally any film that my DP makes me watch which usually have Clint Eastwood in. Yawn.

HolyG I had forgotten about Pret a Porter! Load of toss!

I HATED Seven. Horrible horrible nasty film. ICK. I could hardly see the bloody thing because it was so pretensiously artfully dark and moody.

Anything with the hidious Mr Cruise gets my vote too.

Thunderduck, stop trolling.

I refuse to believe anyone over the age of 13 could love the Star Wars prequels.

ShineOn, stop saying Fight Club is shite. You're about to watch it with a completely fair and open mind, remember?

hazeyjane · 27/05/2009 08:12

Boogie Nights! Pulp Fiction! Resevoir Dogs! Blue bloody Velvet!!!!

What is wrong with you people!!

They are all great films!

Did someone say Beaches was a good film?!!!!

And I like Tom Cruise - he was fantastic in Magnolia, and Tropic Thunder.

Dior · 27/05/2009 09:31

Yes, Tom CAN act, Magnolia is a great film. He might be a #@*! in RL (or might not, who really knows) but he is a good actor.

hazeyjane · 27/05/2009 09:36

Thankgoodness Dior, I though I was on my own there!

He was good in 'Born on the fourth of July' too.

Not that I am a Tom fan, of course

Dior · 27/05/2009 09:39

I think he chose films that would make him popular to start with, and then realised that he needed to prove himself. He was good in WOTW, although I don't like the film particularly.

mayorquimby · 27/05/2009 10:12

oh and top gun is one of the greatest movies ever.

TBCoalman · 27/05/2009 10:14

Runaway Bride. Shite.

Thunderduck · 27/05/2009 11:32

LOL. But I do love the Stars Wars prequels. I went to see Phantom Menace three times when it came out and AOTC and ROTS twice each.

Thunderduck · 27/05/2009 11:32

And I hated Fight Club.

Gateau · 27/05/2009 11:42

Titanic is one of the biggest piles of dross I have ever seen; it's an insult to all those who died on it and their families.

Molesworth · 27/05/2009 11:44

Dior I'm with you on the Tom Cruise issue. He was fantastic in Magnolia. Arse in real life but a bloody good actor!

FairLadyRantALot · 27/05/2009 12:11

I used to love Tom Cruise, but yes, he kinda got nutty (possibly always was, but hidden) and I used to really love Top Gun....

Lizzylou · 27/05/2009 12:13

Watched 28 weeks later on Saturday night, what an awful gore-filled mess.
Lake Placid (complete with plastic Alligator) was supremely bad as well.

Dior · 27/05/2009 14:38

Runaway Bride might not be the best film in the world, but it certainly isn't the worst! AND it has Richard Gere in it...

TBCoalman · 27/05/2009 14:55

No Dior, it is the worst. She was supposed to get married. She ran away. And again. And again. It's even worse than Jumping Jack Flash.

sparkle12mar08 · 27/05/2009 16:34

I think I've checked the thread properly and no one has mentioned it yet, so I have only two words for you:

Grease Two

That's all.

TBCoalman · 27/05/2009 16:47

No, Grease 2 is great.

I wanna coool rider, I wanna coool rider,
I want a dream on a mean machine with hell in his eyes..

Dior · 28/05/2009 07:48

Ah now TBC, you have proved your bad taste...

Weegiemum · 28/05/2009 09:00

Titanic - "I'm the king of the world" "oh no you're not!!"

The "Fantastic 4" films - especially the Silver Surfer crap. Just awful.

I didn't hate the Mamma Mia film as much as the stage show - partly cos I didn't have to pat £25 to see it (went under sufference to stage show for very best friend's birthday).

Shark Tale. Thats a bad film.

Speaking as a mother of 2 girls, all the B* Barbie advertising vehicles (decline to call them films!)

sparkle12mar08 · 28/05/2009 10:39

Nope, sorry, none of that beats Grease 2. It's not even a self aware, so bad it's funny movie either. It's just... bad. Really, really, really bad.

MANATEEequineOHARA · 30/05/2009 10:39

Oh my goodness, people actually DON'T like Moulin Rouge??? Amazing!

FairLadyRantALot · 30/05/2009 13:52

lol manatee....I was all ready to love it, watched it and thought ....it was just odd....lol
