She's just so fracking...ugly.

She can't sing, either.

And she's crap as Mama Ramotswe.

Not sure if YABU but are you sure you're ok today? Nothing going wrong for you - that's quite an outburst?

MayorNaze · 22/04/2009 16:35

that is really mean.

i think she is fab at mma ramotswe.

and i have no idea what your talking about re the singing.

i hope that the

means that you are being ironic and that i now look like an arse

MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:35

Aww, you sweetie! I'm only kidding, Frank - I think she's utterly, luminously gorgeous and amazingly talented! The cow.

Tryharder · 22/04/2009 16:36

Whos Jill Scott??!?

Megglevache · 22/04/2009 16:37

Really ugly?

Blimey I think she's lushly myself.

MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:37

I'm listening to her latest album.

Far too much talent for one person. I bet she's never worked a day in her life.

Sometimes it's fun to 'hate' people who are brilliant, isn't it!

(Mayor, you could never look like an arse!)

Goodness, I love Sunday evenings, and have decided to call all my children things like Precious and Blessed

MrsMattie · 22/04/2009 16:39

Oh, I totally disagree. I don't watch The Lady Detective thing as I thought the book was utter shit, however I think Jill Scott is beautiful and I loved her album 'Who Is Jill Scott?' and this song is one of my more recent favourites of hers. Wicked tune.

MayorNaze · 22/04/2009 16:40

ah.

off to change name to MayorNazeIsAnArse
though thank you for being nice about me

does she sing then?

dh and i have started randomly saying "97 percent" to each other

it is such a NICE end to the weekend, take note BBC - more of the same please!

muffle · 22/04/2009 16:41

Oooh, I love her music though I haven't seen much of the Ramotswe thing on telly, but I bet she's great at it.

MrsMattie · 22/04/2009 16:41

Oh, sorry, this too...I used to love this...her spoken word vibe is lovely...ahhh memories...

DarrellRivers · 22/04/2009 16:41

Yes, I hated the books, but seriously the series is golden
Absolutely charming

MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:41

97percent! I love that! What a lovely series!

MayorNaze · 22/04/2009 16:42

ooh...am on youtube now...wow!

DarrellRivers · 22/04/2009 16:42

And both Dh and I like it, there are not many things both DH and I like.
I make him sit through crime dramas and he loves a documentary

timmette · 22/04/2009 16:43

Oh I love her as Mma Ramotswe - and she does a really good job witht he accent and mannerisms.

MayorNaze · 22/04/2009 16:45

us too DarrellRivers - dh and I like NOTHING to same - am surprised he likes it actually.

so is Jill Scott v famous as a singer/actress then? i had not heard of her before No1 etc, but then i have not heard of most very famous people

MrsMattie · 22/04/2009 16:47

She was very famous in the USA, and very well known on the black music scene elsewhere...

JRocks · 22/04/2009 16:48

this is one of my favourite Jill Scott songs... She's amazing

MrsMattie · 22/04/2009 16:51

Oh I love that, too!@JRocks. I love Jill Scott full stop, actually

This was one of my faves, too.. Great song.

Right, I'll stop my fan club now

MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:51

Remember all that stink about the various entrants to Pop Idol etc etc who were larger than a size 8? Makes me wonder whether Jill Scott had a harder time creating a music career because of her size.

OP posts:
MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:52

Am watching that vid, Jrocks. God, she's got no charisma, has she? >

OP posts:
Megglevache · 22/04/2009 16:54

Oh I see {doh}

I think I had one of her albums. Is the the "Afro song" lady

DiamondHead · 22/04/2009 16:56

She had her first baby on Monday according to Wikipedia

Just thought I'd add that,

MrsMerryHenry · 22/04/2009 16:57

Ahhh...what lovely news! Boy or girl?
