... seems to be occouring more

everytime I ask for some proper advice or peoples opinions - I just get "blah blah shouldnt do things that way nah nah nah I know best"

OP posts:
MiTochondrialEve · 17/02/2009 20:43

She does need help. But I've had the best slaps from the best friends.

MiTochondrialEve · 17/02/2009 20:44

I might try it Cote. See if it should be on the list of meds for EH. (It's MT)

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 20:45

Hmm, I might pick up some of this Adios stuff to use when I'm out and about and my energy flags.

Lot easier than carrying round a flask of coffee.

psychomum5 · 17/02/2009 20:46

so don;t ask for advice then!

it is quite simple really.......you feel patronised, ergo you must be asking questions in such a way that inspire that response.

CoteDAzur · 17/02/2009 20:46

If you try it, let me know. I'm expanding by the day and might need some chemical herbal help after birth & breastfeeding are done and dusted.

suwoo · 17/02/2009 20:47

I've got shit loads of ephedrine in my bathroom cabinet that I bought in Spain. I take the odd tablet occasionally (not now as pg) but it is horrendous stuff. It mimics speed exactly, I even found myself dancing to Scooter in my living room FFS. It gives me the shakes and paranoia and does not help you to lose weight on any long term basis.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 20:51

Same here, Cote.

I made the mistake of weighing myself the other day.

I've put on 13 kilos in the past 5.5 years since I started having children.

kalo12 · 17/02/2009 20:51

you want advice from like minded people who generally think the way you do but you are asking a website of anonymous people.

so clearly you take the advice you find useful and discard what you find irrelevant to your particular requirements.

or did you think it was all about you?

uncharacteristically bitchy of me soz, not personal, but I just find this bizarre

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 20:52

I've never taken speed, actually.

I do have some melatonin that I use occassionally as a sleep aid if herbal tea doesn't help.

Ronaldinhio · 17/02/2009 20:54

yabu

jog on (bored emoticon)(could we get one of those mn tower?)

MiTochondrialEve · 17/02/2009 20:59

I have trid Modafinil recently (after talking to my doc - tho he didn't prescribe it) and that didn't help me lose weight but really did help me concentrate on work after DS in bed! Finished and edited an essay that had been taking me farking ages!

But will let you know about this adios!

tiredsville · 17/02/2009 21:04

Ok, putting the patronising aside 5"7 9.4 stone is very slim. Your weight sounds perfect, don't understand why you would obsess about loosing anymore.

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:11

Is anybody actually reading this thread before they post? The OP has said she's feeling like crap, obviously has a few demons too, and long ago abandoned whinging about MN. Any support at all folks?

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:17

I mean, ffs, it's like somebody could be sitting with their legs dangling of the edge of the Forth Road Bridge saying "Help, I feel really paranoid and like bogeymen are telling me to jump off here, but it's probably because I've taken loads of these Instant Weight Loss pills", and we're all going "Ooh, instant, you say? Where can I buy some?...sorry, were you trying to say something? How much are they anyway?"

Bizarre...

CoteDAzur · 17/02/2009 21:19

No. We just want to talk about drugs.

MiTochondrialEve · 17/02/2009 21:19

BOF, she has support on here - she also has humour and flippancy. They help too sometimes.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 21:21

I'd rather talk about drugs than my ever expanding muffin top.

THIRTEEN KILOS?!

But yep, there it was.

And it's 15 kilos over my lowest weight.

And if it were 9st.+4 I'd be pretty fucking chuffed.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 21:22

I'm supposed to go jean shopping on my birthday on Friday.

So in addition to feeling like shit because I'm pushing forty, I'll feel even shittier trying on jeans.

Thankfully, there's an M&S Food Hall in the shopping centre so I can pick up some wine to drown my sorrows .

OrmIrian · 17/02/2009 21:22

?

If you only want to hear certain responses it's only good manners to say so. Thread title along the lines of "My baby cries all night. Tell me I am right to shut him in the cupboard/bf him to sleep/ignore him" would be helpful. Otherwise take the advice offered. Or don't bother.

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:23

Oh, flippant is good sometimes, I agree, and I do like a good meander on a thread , but y'know, to a point!

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:25

Orm, did you just do that on purpose?

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:27

Expat, two words. Mail Order. I don't do changing rooms these days as I hate crying in public...

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 21:29

Doesn't work for me, Bito, because if it doesn't fit I have to stump up most postage to return it.

No, thanks!

Spaceman · 17/02/2009 21:32

surely the whole point of asking for opinions is that you get a load of people coming back to you with, well, their OPINIONS.

Opinions, by the ways go a bit like this: "blah blah shouldnt do things that way nah nah nah I know best".

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 21:35

Spaceman , yep...

Expat- most places do free returns, but yeah, it could be a pain in the arse...have you seen BALD's thread about the £12 jeans from Marks that make your bum look good? No muffin guaranteed.
