So whats the deal then?

Are they meant to surpress appetite or burn calories through a faster motabalism?

Or both?

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 18:13

Both ericL...the main effect though is to keep you totally wired

RandomStranger · 17/02/2009 18:14

OP has an ED

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 18:19

Blimey, diet pills are the last thing you need then...speedy stuff makes you even more paranoid, so you would feel like shit even when they are making no difference to your weight (which, as I say, they stop affecting pretty quickly).

pagwatch · 17/02/2009 18:20

is that relevent to this thread

solidgoldbullet4myvalentine · 17/02/2009 18:22

Bollocks to bying it for weight loss - if it's legal, why aren't I more kids grabbing it to take to clubs? (brushes off leather trousers, grabs eyeliner, heads purposefuly to chemists clutching list of interesting rock clubs...)

I would think it were relevant on the adios thread.
But on a thread where she complains about feeling patronised and then apologizes and withdraws that in very good spirit - not so sure!

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 18:27

There used to be this stuff out in the US called 'Metabolife'. It was straight up ephedra.

They had it pull it off hte market after people started buying it left and right to cut meth with or prolong and intensify a heroin fix.

CoteDAzur · 17/02/2009 18:30

What is this Adios stuff and where can I get some? It sounds like a fun way to lose weight.

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 18:32

IT DOESNT WORK, Cote. The only pounds you will lose are from your bank account!

Onlywantsome, that has got to be the worst AIBU-by-stealth ever btw- it would be horrible to be on a thread advising someone how to lose weight when they hadn't told them they were already slim and tending towards an eating disorder. It would make me feel bloody horrible, like passing someone depressed some paracetamol. I hope you are going to find some help for it (and I'm sorry if that sounds patronizing) and don't start messing with heart attack in a bottle diet pills.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 18:40

Yes, goal accomplished, Reality. It'll make you thin alright .

My first cousin used meth amphetimine to achieve staggering weight loss.

Unfortunately, she was also apprehended by the police and was found to be tweakin' whilst behind the wheel, and carrying enough to be convicted of 'promotion of a Class A substance' - a shade under 'intent to distribute', but enough so that's she's now got a felony record.

thefortbuilder · 17/02/2009 18:40

FA27 just back from the shops

metabolife - wasn't there one called metabo-ultra? our old tesco's had one of those "health shops" inside it and there were more types of slimming pill than there were vitamin pills!

CoteDAzur · 17/02/2009 18:44

Getting speed would be hard as I don't know any dealers anymore.

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 18:45

Well, if you're ever in Denver, Cote, according to my cuz, just hang around Colfax or that road over there from LoDo towards I-25 by the baseball stadium and it's pretty easy to score.

Just so you know .

foxytocin · 17/02/2009 18:47

never knew what adios was till i read this thread. (prob because i am a sz 6-8)

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 18:47

I have never lost weight on speed, chiefly because it makes me want to drink like a fish.

Onlywantsome- are you alright btw?

BitOfFun · 17/02/2009 18:50

Probably not terrifically helpful, foxytocin

expatinscotland · 17/02/2009 18:51

i am, too, foxy. before the alarm clock goes off every morning.

CoteDAzur · 17/02/2009 18:52

I went and asked this on the Adios thread as well, but can someone explain to me what "a herbal form of speed" is supposed to mean?
