i will not post this

OP posts:
mollyroger · 15/02/2009 17:27

Yes Molesworth, the whole reason the AIBU section came into exsistence was presumably, because so many posters were clogging up chat with their unreasobale rants....
Mnetters have always been reasonably good at ranting about being unreasonable!

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2009 17:29

No, it's a self-selecting group, I agree but I think that is the reason why that the self-selecting group exists.

The self-selecting aspect is a unique aspect to Moldies, but I imagine the desire is the same as why I might just post on 10/10 for a bit. It's easier, you know the people. It's different to posting on MN at large, as it were.

DumbledoresGirl · 15/02/2009 17:30

It isn't even a self-selecting group 100X. If it were, there would never have been the furore at Christmas. But anyway, I should not re-open wounds, should I? (My own, I mean).

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2009 17:30

I don't think it'll fragment Threadie, but it is HUGE. Which is good in a way, because everyone should be able to get out of it what they need or want at any given point. And on one day that might be to chat to their friends, another they might fancy a bust-up on AIBU with a stranger, on another they might want to talk about books with anyone who is passing.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2009 17:32

I'm not saying that Moldies is the same as the Bar, I am saying that the need or desire for it is the same.

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2009 17:37

i'm not on dangerous ground, i don't think, dg. i'm entitled to an opinion. and i deregged from moldies quite some time ago.

DumbledoresGirl · 15/02/2009 17:54

I didn't mean that Aitch. (touchy?) I meant MNHQ would not want this becoming another Moldies thread.

Guadalupe · 15/02/2009 17:56

AIBU can be very annoying. I sometimes post on them but rarely say YABU or YANBU because it annoys me.

I can't see any harm in groups really, even if they do seem gang-like, I don't see how that can be avoided when people have known each other a long time. I can see what you mean though, Aitch, about posting generally on the board. Sometimes it's easy to flick through and then just say hi to the people you know. Laziness maybe.

And not everyone is nice on 10/10. I for one am quite prickly.

AliceTheCamelHasGotTheHump · 15/02/2009 17:59

I love the way you get threads full of people squarking that the OP is being unreasonable and simultaniously trying to reason with them. And then getting narked because they won't be reasoned with. Damn unreasonable of them.

daftpunk · 15/02/2009 18:03

can you repeat that in english?

Guadalupe · 15/02/2009 18:05

I got a bit cross-eyed there too. I thought it was tiredness.

mollyroger · 15/02/2009 18:06

Guad - you bitch. Are you hungover?

Guadalupe · 15/02/2009 18:10

A bit, but I have some red wine now and I feel better!

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2009 18:14

i just feel like because i don't want to post about farkin' veg consumption i have to miss out on a number of my favourite mners.

and i'm a bit mystified by your post, dg, tbh. it really didn't read like that, wink notwithstanding.

Blu · 15/02/2009 18:18

YANBU.

I have been commenting on this since about 3 weeks after AIBU was introduced. The whole sarky, whiny, aggressive, confrontational tone pervades the rest of MN.

But APPARANTLY, according to MNHQ, AIBU threads rack up most posts are the most popular.

Hmmm. No comment.

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2009 18:23

They've been here for as long as I have, but the whole place seems a bit different now. I can't work out who anyone is either.

DumbledoresGirl · 15/02/2009 18:35

Relax Aitch, you are among friends here. I simply meant that talking about Moldies was maybe going to re-open that can of worms. I am perfectly aware of the fact that you left Moldies some time ago, so I was certainly not implying that you were being disingenuous.

Do I get extra points for bringing that word into the thread?

morningpaper · 15/02/2009 18:42

DG you are being weirdly sinister

are you going to stab someone to death in a minute?

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2009 18:42

you do indeed.

AitchTwoOh · 15/02/2009 18:43

(she IS, isn't she, MP? i'm scared there'll be a horse's head in my bed this evening.)

morningpaper · 15/02/2009 18:45

yes you'd better check for corpses in the laundry cupboard etc

oh and don't answer the door

RiaParkinson · 15/02/2009 18:49

talking of the mafia i am wishing the Corleone fella would come back...kept a bit of a 'lid on things'

since the godfather's buggered off its scary in here

in the words of FunBoy3 'The Lunatics have taken over the asylum'

ahundredtimes · 15/02/2009 18:49

Meanies. I knew what she meant.

Guadalupe · 15/02/2009 18:55

Urrgh at horses head. That's a bit macabre.

RustyBear · 15/02/2009 19:16

As far as I can see on the 10/10 threads you just have to list a few fruit & veg & then go on to talk about anything you please - the current thread appears to have been discussing rainbow legwarmers, eczema and homing head-lice this weekend.
