don't you have any curiousity about what goes on in the world?
if what you say is true, I'm genuinely perplexed
although I will admit alot of the news is downright depressing
but still...

I find it quite worrying that there are adults in this country who don't know, or care, who he is!

Have the Global credit crisis, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, popular culture etc, etc, etc, not taught you that it is important to know what is happening in the USA at least, if not the rest of the World??

I probably check sky news about once a fortnight when I have absolutely nothing else to do, but then its only a quick glance.

TBH - i'd never admit to being that.... unworldly....

How the fuck can you not know?

Tigerschick · 21/01/2009 10:58

How can you not care about what is happening in the World around you??

whoingodsnameami · 21/01/2009 10:58

I never said I dont give a shit, bloody hell!!! I am usually just too busy.

OP posts:
morningpaper · 21/01/2009 10:59

Ah yes luckily there are people who can keep up with these things who have loads of time on their hands like, erm, Gordon Brown

Deemented · 21/01/2009 10:59

Even if you don't particularly care very much... his name has been been on everyones lips for the last 18 months.

morningpaper · 21/01/2009 10:59

nb he is a celebrity chef, I think

independiente · 21/01/2009 10:59

Ok, and what have people been saying about Obama in front of you?

Tigerschick · 21/01/2009 10:59

Surely knowing who, arguably, the most powerful man in the World is is something worth setting a little time aside for?

kittywise · 21/01/2009 10:59

Well , this might confuse you.

They call hum the first black president. he is no more black than he is white, so don't listen to that one

whoingodsnameami · 21/01/2009 11:00

Nothing, I just noticed lots of threads on here about it.

OP posts:
Deemented · 21/01/2009 11:00

You're too busy? Yet you've been on MN for how long? And how long does it take to google?

charitygirl · 21/01/2009 11:00

Nonsense, no one is too busy to hear, in passing, who is the new PRESIDENT OF THE USA!

hippipotamiWantsToLoseAPound · 21/01/2009 11:00

But surely you have seen the threads on here? And read them? So you should know who he is?

Am a bit about this really.

I dont' buy newspapers, and we hardly ever watch the news on tv. But dh has the BBC News page set as the homepage on the pc. So we do manage to keep abreast of the news.

morningpaper · 21/01/2009 11:00

by the way this will kill you but GEORGE MICHAEL IS GAY!

BrianOBrain · 21/01/2009 11:00

duchesse · 21/01/2009 11:00

Jeepers creepers, three hundred years of American and Western Hemisphere history turned on its head, and you think it's funny not to know about it? I have no words...

bananapaddlepop · 21/01/2009 11:00

I don't believe you. It's history in the making.

BrianOBrain · 21/01/2009 11:01
