sorry but this is starting to hack me off. been reading several long and involved discussions recently and getting a bit sick of the number of people who join in going "i've only read the op but here is my opinion, despite the fact that you all moved on about 3 pages ago"

sigh

OP posts:

I've read only the OP, but YANBU

Do not be surprised if people react to your original post in AIBU. Why should someone have to trawl through everyone else's opinion before commenting?
Your OP is what you are asking people to respond to, everything else is Vicky Pollard's 'Yeah but, No but..'

NotanOtter · 15/12/2008 21:57

I prefer to read all the thread before posting, however like a PP said you can get just as much information from reading all the OP's posts on a thread. So if they post additional information a few pages in it isn't missed.

If a poster starts with "I haven't read the thread but..." what they post is normally repetitive and often unconnected to the 'moved on from the OP' conversation but that is their problem.

Poins · 16/12/2008 18:51

Not their problem at all I think, but those petty folk who think their contribution should be read above the op

bracingair · 16/12/2008 19:08

i havent had time to read the whole thread but yanbu
