To be very upset about my step sister joining this facebook 'group'

Just been on fb and on the newsfeed i saw my ss has joined a group entitled "for anyone who hates all packies"! Her dad married my mum a year ago and we're recently become friends. She's quiet different to me but seeing as we're now related i make an effort with her. Her dd is a similar age to my ds so we've been on playdates, out of lunch etc. Now i have seen this i feel utterly discusted. I want to have nothing to do with her. What should i do? Confront her about it? Ignore it and just be casual with her at family gettogethers? I'm really shocked. I didn't ever imagine such an attitude from her. I have never seen any signs of this. Oh and surely facebook should ban such 'groups'?

I would imagine that facebook would ban such groups. flag it up with them and see what happens.

i am not sure what I would do. erm, I definitely woulodn't want much to do with her though

that such groups are allowed on Fb, YANBU she sounds like she's better kept at a distance if they are her opinions

I even clicked on the group to check incase it was an anti-racism group or something but it was disgusting.

I agree with thisisyesterday - I'd contact the admins at facebook. I doubt they'd want this kind of thing on their site.

Have you clicked on the group to see what it's about- just to check, it could be a pun or something.
That's not the normal spelling.

why are you shocked? It is my opinion and everybody has a different one and just because you don't agree doesn't make it wrong.

Atleast now you don't have to make an effort with her, which by the way is such a bitchy thing to say.

I too would be disgusted. I'm not sure what you should do, tbh.

Personally, I would either ignore it, or send her an "I'm suprised to see you've joined that group" (depending on whether I'd had a glass of wine) and just be casual with her at family get togethers.

You don't have to see yourself as related to her. DH has "step siblings" that he has aquired in adult hood, and he in no way considers himself to be related to them.

"if you all hate packies" it is actually called. Don't see how"making an effort" is a bitchy thing to say, she's someone i've become family members with in the last year so i'm making an effort to get along with her. But now she's outed herself as a racist!
