Or have I had a sense of humouyr bypass and I seriously need to rediscover it? I know that bf an older baby is unusual but he's not fed that often. He usually says it when I give him his morning feed but it can be at any time. I just don't find it funny at all and I'm getting more and more irritated grrr!!

Is it good for a child to hear 'FUCK OFF' shouted at 'anyone'??

SOrry, I just don't get the outrage.

Sleepycatonabroomstick - does your DH dare say anything? Or does he check it first with you?

I couldn't care less what my DH called BF. It had tit all to do with him. It was between me and my baby.

Surely I am not the only one who thinks like this?

Belittled? Why????

Because of one word, made popular by a TV series? Are you all THAT serious?

What planet do you normally inhabit, Stayfrosty? Cos it's not earth!!!

What the hell is belittling and insulting about using the term 'bitty'???? What??? I don't get it? I use it myself, and I don't find it at all offensive...

And I'd like to add: I'd much prefer someone to say BITTY than my son to hear me shout FUCK OFF (presumably while he was close to my chest)

Disgraceful to use that language (or anger) in front of a baby.

What would he call formula feeding - 'botty'?

Report
notsoseriousanymore · 21/10/2008 22:57

Well, to quote Sleepycat
If anyone said bitty to me about feeding my child they could fuck off, to put it bluntly.

No-one made the distiction of 'rude man' dittany

ANd stayfrosty - who made the connection about being too old??? (err YOU) My DH said it to me when DS was 3 months old. It was just a term, not a whole cultural thing.

And FWIW, Mrs Normanmaine - we call bottles BOTBOT.. (as er... 99.9% of the population does. Got any other suggestions????)

Wow - you know a lot of people!

I am only in touch with a very small percentage of the population which might be why I haven't heard BOT BOT in use although it sounds perfectly sensible to me. We just call it 'milk' with no reference to the vessel in which it is served.

Oh and Stayfrosty... please DO tell us how YOU put something bluntly...

Because in your mind that ISN'T saying it loudly whenever it crosses your mind... so... enlighten me!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are all reading WAY too much into a comedy programme.

Listen to Radio 4 if it's too much for you.

Honestly!!!

Very odd. But am finding it quite entertaining. Much funnier than Little Britain (except for Tom Baker).

And, Anyway, catonbroomthingy... Surely your baby would pick up on your 'fuck off' vibes and therefore be hindered for ever more....

crikey this thread has turned weird. Being shouted at for finding an offensive term offensive is a bit, er, odd.

Er, hate to break this to you notsoserious but Little Britain was a Radio 4 programme in the first place... it only moved to TV AFTER being on Radio 4.
