Or have I had a sense of humouyr bypass and I seriously need to rediscover it? I know that bf an older baby is unusual but he's not fed that often. He usually says it when I give him his morning feed but it can be at any time. I just don't find it funny at all and I'm getting more and more irritated grrr!!

What a grade A bell-end. Tell him to nob off, I love pustulerots comment-nice one you should do that!

MrsMattie · 21/10/2008 21:28

Gross! What an idiot. Tell him to grow up.

Lilyloo · 21/10/2008 21:29

That would seriously piss me off am waiting for these comments when we hit the 12 mth mark but if it was off dp i would go mad!

S1ur · 21/10/2008 21:31

yy education IS the key.

My BIL is a bfing convert, waxes lyrical now when he used to ask Sis to feed in the loo!

Get him some wisdom.

theyoungvisiter · 21/10/2008 21:31

What. An. Arse.

(your DH I mean)

Sorry if that's mean, he's probably a lovely chap and just doesn't realise how entirely offensive that sketch is to everyone who's fed their baby for longer than some narrow-minded tosspot thinks is "normal".

Tell him that you're not amused and you'd like him to stop. If that doesn't work, ask him if he seriously thinks that characterising you and your baby's relationship as deviant and disgusting is acceptable. If that doesn't work tell him to fuck off.

Tryharder · 21/10/2008 21:35

PMSL at idea of Nogirlsallowed saying "computer says no" the next time her DH wants a shag.

Thanks for the laugh PustuleRots - I have had a crap day and you have really cheered me up.

HRHSaintMamazon · 21/10/2008 21:36

oink each time he eats.

Plonker · 21/10/2008 21:38

My dh does this too and thinks that he is soooooo witty

It really pisses me off ...

NOgirlsallowed · 21/10/2008 21:38

He knows I find the sketch offensive I change channels rather than watch uurrgh! I've explained that I don't like it he apologizes but after a few days he forgets and says it again!

LOL at PustuleRots

notsoseriousanymore · 21/10/2008 21:41

it's just a joke... my DH does it all the time...

MaDAMNEDAnt · 21/10/2008 21:42

And you are certainly not being unreasonable. I found "bitty" comments utterly infuriating, even when it came from people who I know had no malicious intent (e.g. my younger brothers). Agree with slur that education is key.

edam · 21/10/2008 21:45

Not at all funny. Puerile.

bundle · 21/10/2008 21:46

squirt some milk in his eye
he'll soon stop

Rhubarb · 21/10/2008 21:50

Ahem! My dh used to compare me to one of his dairy herd cows he used to milk. He became THE authority on breastfeeding, until one day I beat him up. He got the message after that.

Or you could shout "maggoty maggot!" every time he goes for a piss or tries it on!

bundle · 21/10/2008 21:51

agree with rhubarb

waggle your little finger at him, in patronising manner, every time he's even a little bit frisky

kittywise · 21/10/2008 21:53

blergh, how horrible, poor you tell him to naff off.

MadameCastafiore · 21/10/2008 21:56

Everytime he drinks a cup of tea you have made smile, raise eyebrow and say bitty bitty!

He will never know whether he is drinking cows or bitty milk will he!

mytetherisending · 21/10/2008 21:57

I would be fuming! My DH used to say 'go to udders' every time dd1 needed feeding. After having to deal with me PND for 9mths he has kept his great flapping yap shut with dd2 (7mths)

MrsWeasley · 21/10/2008 21:59

agree with Rhubarb on this one.

i would bloody kill my Dh if he said that. Hate that sketch with a passion.

Really?

Am I the only person who finds this sketch funny?

I think it's rather funny when my DS grapples at my chest, even though he has been formula fed for the last 2 months...

SOmetimes, if he gets into a complete stress, I do give him my breast (to calm him - he gets no nutrition from it at all)and I will refer to it as 'bitty' to my DH

I just don't see the problem... I'll say, I need to calm DS with a little bitty...

I think it's quite funny...

theyoungvisiter · 21/10/2008 22:11

yes but notsoserious the OP DOESN'T find it funny - she finds it irritating (as would I).

The point isn't whether the sketch is funny or not (I think it's not, but then I think that most of Little Britain isn't funny so I may not be the target audience) but the fact that her DH is making remarks that upset her and not stopping.

Fair enough, make the joke once. But if you see your partner doesn't find it amusing then don't continue.
