to be fed up for my DS to have to wait & shiver to use the showers after swimming whilst Mums of girls wash & condition their childs long hair ?

Arghhhhh ! Really bugged me the other day . This is in the family changing area , why cant they use the ladies changing room if they only have girls .

My boys come out of their swimming lesson and have to wait whilst the showers are being hogged by these women !

My eldest Ds will now use the mens changing room so he doesn't freeze when getting out of the pool but my youngest will just have to wait !

Rant over - do I need a hard hat ?

Takes me quite a while to wash and condition my ds's long curly hair, never gave it any thought tbh, sorry.

Presumably they only use one shower together, so they can was and condition the hair? So it's like two people using it one after the other. It just seems much longer. OTOH I'd probably use women's only if available.

I don't bother showering my children if it means waiting to use it.

I just shower them at home.

Its just the queue of kids that form to have a quick wash off fof the chlorine whilst hair is being de tangled ,condtioned ,combed etc

I just think that they should be possible use the ladies changing area to take the pressure off the family area.

No it's swimming lessons so I am guessing the mother hasn't actually swum. But is stood at arms length with shampoo and conditioner. Annoys me too. The best tactic is to really impress on your DS to hurry up and be first out so he beats them into the shower.

Problem is my two are in the big pool which is the furthest from the showers hence the 'new 'Mums and DDs who are in learner pool get to showers first and bloody hog them !

We only have communal here. I have two dds, one with long hair one with frizz.

We rinse and go home to do the full palaver bit. Anyone hogging communal showers annoys me though. Not to mention the clouds of foam about the place.

Cod - that is why mums of boys take their DSs swimming. At least they have a wash once a week

I don't understand these people who treat public showers like their own private bathroom. Just rinse off the kids and get out I say! It's pretty grim in there anyway - why prolong the agony!

It was so busy yesterday I was really getting annoyed , then to top it all I said to a woman who was looking for somewher to cahnge her child that she could share my DS cubicle as he was waiting for the shower . When we came back from shower she had locked the door and we couldn't get in to get my DS clothes and we had to wait until she and DD had finsihed !

Never again !

id ont understand why peeps dont just go home and shower

plan it so you barge in first, you'll only take 5 seconds

or set all the thermostats to COLD

In the end I did get Ds to barge in I said in a loud voice ' Get in the shower you are getting cold ! ' Hint Hint !

YABU - I don't wash my kids after swimming as I cannot be bothered to wait! ie dirty sods
But I can understand why other people do - my DD has long hair and it needs condidtioning - it does make sense to do it straight after swimming really!

if your ds is too young to use the men's changing rooms then surely he's young enough to be taken into the ladies' changing room .. so why don't you take your kids into the ladies and use the showers you want the mums with DDs to use?

Should wear swimming caps - the ones with little flowers over them
