I have been posting on here for a year or so on and off, but I have never really felt welcome.

No one ever responds to what I write, in fact I have sometimes felt actively ignored.

Now obviously that could be cos I write a load of crap that interests no one

Or it could be that very early on, before I realised how careful you had to be, I had an argument with someone who, it turned out, was a mumsnet superstar.

Am I being paranoid, or do people get unofficialy blacklisted!!

btw have changed my name for this.

threads move fast sometimes, posts get overlooked.
there is no big conspiracy.
dive in, post prolifically and demand attention, if that's what you need.

birdinatent · 21/08/2008 18:31

I think VVVQV was a bit OTT too, she knows I was paranoid, now I am devastated

Welcome travellingwilbury.

birdinatent · 21/08/2008 18:32

I have never had such a response, should have changed my name ages ago!!!

bellavita · 21/08/2008 18:33

birdinatent - don't be

expatinscotland · 21/08/2008 18:33

oh, it's been a whole five minutes since we had a thread like this and then someone chimes in with a no-punches-pulled response and we start up with the 'bullying', 'unsupportive', 'mean', 'OTT' and blah blah blah posts.

seriously, if you've been posting on here for a year or so, you know how these threads always go!

StealthPolarBear · 21/08/2008 18:33

YABU I'm afraid but it's natural - I have those "why am I being ignored?" moments but it just depends on topic / time of day / phase of moon
VVVQV - that's not like you!

MarsLady · 21/08/2008 18:33

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 21/08/2008 18:34

QV

RustyBear · 21/08/2008 18:34

Bearing in mind that many of us are so addled with pregnancy/broken nights or (in my case) advancing age that we do well to remember to put clean knickers on, we really don't cherish grudges like that.

travellingwilbury · 21/08/2008 18:34

Thank you Mars you have made me feel welcome already

MarsLady · 21/08/2008 18:34

I think that VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVQQQQQQQQQQQQQQVV was simply doing what MNers normally do on a

"please don't ignore me/swear/hate me" type thread.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 21/08/2008 18:34

No, really, get stuck in.

Having a ruck is one way of getting yourself known, developing your own 'style' be it humour/Eccentric capitalisations/crapola typing skills is another.

The boards are v fast-moving and we all get passed over or ignored on occasion.

HTH

BreeVanderCampLGJ · 21/08/2008 18:35

cos of course she was

lol

werent you vvq

expatinscotland · 21/08/2008 18:36

if you take everything seriously, if you take everything personally, if you hold grudges, this board is going to constantly piss you off or upset you.

daftpunk · 21/08/2008 18:36

ML

StealthPolarBear · 21/08/2008 18:37

well so did I but I assumed she would have used a well placed ;) to make the point

zippitippitoes · 21/08/2008 18:37

MarsLady · 21/08/2008 18:38
StealthPolarBear · 21/08/2008 18:38

Oh thanks zippi, I know, I was bored and so looked at my B-list threads

beanieb · 21/08/2008 18:38

You're being paranoid I think. I have been posting here since October-ish and although I am aware there are lots of friendships on here, and some threads for those friendships (What is Scuttle?) I haven't ever felt ignored. I've had disagreements with people but I put that down to my forthright opinions and my inability to not share them

There are posters here I would like to be 'friends' with and some I steer clear of but generally, compared to other places I post, I think Mumsnet is so huge that it's actually quite nice to be able to just get opinion which isn't cloouded by personal history with others.

I joined for the Conception forums, and I feel close to those other women who are going through the same.

You get back what you put in IMO
